Game #57: Cavaliers (34-22) vs. Wizards (33-24); EMERGENCY THREAD

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just hope LeBron doesn't get discouraged and stop bringing that energy from here til the playoffs.

We did not play well, but I still take that 100 times out of 100 compared to the crap we were watching a few weeks ago.

I don't see it happening. It was a frustrating loss but not one that uncovered deep, problematic flaws in the team. Cavs had some momentum changing shots rim out at key times, and again the Wizards played some excellent stuff. It happens, will hopefully keep them grounded, focused and hungry. Last thing they needed was to be gassed up by the media and start believing their own hype.

Start of a journey.

This is the most concerning part. We keep banking on LeBron flipping a defensive switch in the playoffs.... but we have more and more evidence mounting, going back to last year (including the playoffs), that it just doesn't exist anymore.

I totally disagree with this. LeBron was fine in the playoffs defensively.

Golden State is an unguardable juggernaut and we did not have the requisite personnel to match-up....so we got smoked by them but otherwise we were just fine defensively in the playoffs.

I'd kill to get Nance in the starting lineup. Watching TT's version of defense and on the flip side watching teams completely ignore him gets old. He's a 10 minute per game player in the NBA. I've never seen a useful role player drop off a cliff like he has. It's a combination of the league going crazy with shooting (which he brings none of) and his game regressing to the point he can barely do the one thing that made him useful.

Which version of LeBron cared more.. all star LeBron or Cavs LeBron tonight. What is your first instinct.

LeBron cared more than enough to win the game.

Gotta understand 33 yr old guys can't carry the team on both ends all the time anymore. It's humanly impossible. He rested on defense for a good while, as he should. This was absolutely different from the sabotage version of LeBron a few weeks ago.

From the 2nd half on, the team just got lost on offense. Guys were bumping into another, Tristan was clogging everything and George Hill was horrible. Wizards also defended pretty well. LeBron just didn't have spacing, and he can't thrive without spacing.

The lineup that finished the game was much better for him. The question to be asked is why Lue just took TT out in the last 3 mins.

Seemed like Lue was searching for lineups...we should've been blown out the way Washington shot Vs the way we shot...we'll be alright

We have not worked out good lineups and don't know how to play together yet. Our second best player is out. The guys we got in are role players, not stars. Lebron is not actually Superman. Yeah, this game was a come down but we competed through the whole game and it was winnable. The Wizards are a good team and they are hot. I still feel WAY better about our team than two weeks ago. We'll work it out.

Once Love is back, Thompson should be only used in very peculiar/emergencial situations. And should never play much more than 15 min. And should ALWAYS be sorrounded by spacing players.

You do realize that when LeBron checked in, in the 4th, we were down 1. LeBron fucked around and now we are down 11. LeBron started trying again and now down 3 with a chance.

We all know even on his worst day he’s still easily our best player. That should go without saying. Lots of reasons we lost tonight. It’s all fixable. But it is so frustrating watching his effort wax and wane seemingly randomly.

With the night Hill had, he had no business playing 31 minutes. Clarkson played 17. How can anyone take Lue seriously?

This is the main point to me. With a great coach... you have elements to build a real team here, maybe a menace on the finals.

But it's really, really hard to believe Lue will be able to get the best out of this group. He clearly gets lost with too many options.

I wanted to show how the players other than LeBron did because people were saying this one was on him. In this case his 1-4 from 3 actually improved the team's percentage. If we just shoot 30% from 3 tonight we likely win.

Fair enough. Consider my questioning of your post rescinded.

LeBron needed 2 stops on smaller players that is it. If he had stopped 2 shots where he gave no resistance the Cavs win.

I blame Mike Scott Tho. That guys is money against the Cavs

By looking at how he slammed the ball down after J.R blew his asignment on a critical play, I think lebron cared about this game.
