Game 59 | Cavs (35-23) @ Spurs (35-25) | February 25, 2017 | 3:30 pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We conceded 34 points in 4th quarter now. We started with atrocious offence, and ended with atrocious defence.

We managed to put a unit on the floor that had the following:

Poor defense against the Spurs. Jeff Green on LMA is a giant mismatch and forced doubles which really hurt. Also Korver out there was a guy they constantly sought out and attacked from the perimeter.

Poor spacing...You can't run a LBJ at the 5 line-up with Jeff Green and Clarkson out there. There's pretty obvious places to cheat off of.

Poor bbiq moments -Clarkson multiple terrible turnovers since the start of the quarter. multiple bad fouls that put SA on the line. Same story for Kyle Korver. Huge negatives by both guys.

I just don't understand how Nance played 15 minutes man. He needs to play 30-36 minutes every single night the rest of the season. He needs to play at least 75% of his minutes with LeBron. He's our best defensive player on the team and actually can anchor the defense. His roll threat offensively completely opens up our offense and especially helps the ball handlers whether it is LBJ, Jordan, Hood or Hill.

Nance was dominant against the Thunder defensively and to a lesser extent Boston. Those are the games we need to make the blueprints going forward.

We need to immediately scrap Green and Korver getting anymore than 12 minutes each unless one of them is really amazingly hot.

We NEED to make tough decisions and cut the rotation to 8-9. Tristan, Korver, Green are the 3 top casualties. JR right behind those 3 unless hes hot early.

Having 11 guys who can play doesnt mean anything in the playoffs or against the better teams. In the playoffs you play 8 and trust 7, and in the finals you play 7 and trust 6. We know how this shit works.

The reason I'm so pissed is that we should have easily killed them. Instead we got killed.

I've never seen coaching this horrid. Clarkson, Hood, and Nance are young and can handle a lot of minutes. Not only that, they are our best players beside LBJ right now. Whether they start or not, they need 35 minutes a game. Period.

The refs killed us. Half our players played like straight trash. But Lue lost us the game. You sit the trash players. We would have been better with Holland in. Or Calderon. For most of the game.

Nance play 15min, our best defense and rebound player now, play FUCKING 15MIN!

FUCK U TYRON LUE, your idiot!
Biggest game changer not named LeBron. Put him out there with LeBron and 3 shooters and we'll score easily and have lock down D. Instead we play him with Jeff Green who clogs the paint.

People can bitch about Hill but Clarkson got killed defensively...I'd take Hill late in games over Clarkson everyday...Also Nance not being in late is ridiculous... The 2nd unit is gonna have a rough time in the playoffs when things slow down ...we have no offense

Also this is why it was fucking ignorant to get rid of Wade and reduce his role.. I would have had no problem giving him Korvers or even sometimes JRs minutes .. he can run a 2nd team better than anyone not named LBJ... Dumb move

I guess the team can't win at home anymore... but is great on the road?

I don't know. The whole thing us confusing.

And still, fuck the refs.

We miss Wade's steady hand running the second unit.

Lue needs to have both Clarkson and Hill running the second unit, it too easy for Clarkson to get tunnel vision having the ball in his hands without someone to take it away from him.

Yep Clarkson isn't someone I'm trusting to lead my 2nd team successfully throughout the playoffs...he is more of a scorer

Yeah that was obvious: He had to move Hood onto Murray because Murray had his way with Clarkson.
Once that was done, SA countered with Mills plus Murray which caused Korver to guard him which was a disaster.

Not playing Nance with a finishing lineup of Hill, Clarkson or Green, Nance, Lebron, and Hood was a puzzling move. That would have neutralized the offense/defense issues that were created by the Murray/Mills lineup that the Spurs were running.

Hill wasn't great on offense but he gets a pass as he gets stuck with Thompson for most of the game

I just don't understand how a coach can watch his team go on like a 0-14 spell, do absolutely nothing, then call a timeout, make no changes AT ALL, keep sinking and still make no changes until it's time to clear the bench.

Why? Why not make LITERALLY ANY CHANGE? The lineup is not working! Change ANYTHING you fucking clown. Take LeBron out, put Moondog in. I don't care! FUCKING DO SOMETHING.

You guys are romanticizing Wade running the 2nd against bad teams. Clarkson has been killing bad 2nd units too. The Spurs just happen to always have an elite 2nd unit.

Against all the good teams Wade was like Clarkson except with way more long twos, worse defense, etc. He turned the ball over all the time. He didn't play D except for highlights and late in games. The 2nd unit falling apart was just as much on Wade being bad.

It was too much of an over correction to the on court problems of the team. We will never really know if Wade was a problem off the court for the team. We had a solid second unit, completely blowing it up was a mistake. I understand moving Frye but Wade was the guy who ran the unit and I think 99% of us would agree that he was the biggest reason it was so good.
