Longabardi was brought in by Ty Lue... I have to think the announcement @PIP @The Human Q-Tip and @Cavatt have been waiting for is just around the corner...
It's he fired? Dumb dumb business move not firing him and daring Lue to quit. Could have saved millions. Then if he didn't quit, you fire him. Dan should have had me handle it and I would have taken 3% of Lue's remaining salary.
Thompson also said the Cavs couldn't unleash their blitzing defense -- sending multiple defenders to slow down Hawks rookie Trae Young -- as much as they wanted on Sunday because they "didn't learn blitz package yet."
It's possible Lue's contract gave him the right to pick his own assistants. So, firing Longabardi may have put the Cavs in breach and forced them to pay Lue anyway.
I don't know if that is the case - just saying it's possible.
