2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think it is a nice fit for both parties.

Browns got quality compensation for an expendable player.

Texans got significantly better at RB2 and 3DRB.....and I honestly think Duke has starting upside in that offense.

Now we'll all cheer for him to play 10 games.

Current FA Running Backs:
  • Jay Ajayi
  • Alex Collins
  • Charcandrick West
  • Steven Ridley
  • Kerwynn Williams
  • Fozzy Whittaker
  • Corey Grant
  • Kapri Bibbs
Any of those guys would be a great third option behind Hunt and Chubb.

"Great" is an incredibly strong word to use.

I'd rather develop someone on the roster, if that's the best there is.

Collins is facing suspension and broke his leg a month ago, Ajayi is coming off an ACL and the rest are dumpsters with the exception of Corey Grant, who is a Packer (not a free agent).

I'd rather take the chance on Hilliard.

I think people are going to be shocked with how good he really can become.

3rd would be behind Hilliard until Hunt is off suspension

Fair enough.

I have heard some things about D'Earnest Johnson. A name to look at tonight for all of you that might want to watch tonight.

Freddie Kitchens was his position coach, and then in his first week as a playcaller he designed plays that featured Dontrell Hilliard in a three back set. I think our head coach already chose Duke's successor.

By the way, am I the only one who constantly calls him "Dalton Hilliard" because part of my brain is still stuck on late 1980s to early 1990s football?

Has there been a list of who won’t play?

either hardly any starters are playing or tomorrow’s practice is nothing but a walk through l, right?

Half the team seems injured, all of our starting D-Line, I think both Jarvis and ODB are out, some of the linebackers.

Don't expect much from the preseason game except it will be nice to see someone lineup in the orang and brown uniforms.

@Jack Brickman curious to get your opinion on how this affects Duke's fantasy value. They really need a reason to get off of Miller in the passing game. Do you think Duke can pull in 50-60 catches in what could be perhaps a more expanded role?

Given that the Texans gave up a probable third for him, I have to think they plan to use him, and perhaps like him more than Lamar Miller. He's never going to be a three down back, but I do think it's important to remember that, for all the talk of Duke limping off the field after hits, the kid has never missed a game in four seasons. He also proved two years ago that he is capable of a fairly large offensive role. He's not the best between the tackles, but he is still good enough there to be utilized.

At any rate, you don't trade a third round pick for one of the league's best satellite backs and then give Lamar Miller all the targets. I think it's far more likely that Lamar Miller's fantasy production takes a big hit. And that makes sense. Miller will likely be gone after this year, whereas Duke will still be under contract.

Where is this coming from? I haven't seen anything about them being out.
