Game Thread 2019-20 Season Game #2 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers | Oct 26th, 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Did Beilein really use one of Tyler Cooks 45 days to play him for 20 seconds?

Sitting on the bench is one of his 45 days. It's 45 NBA days not games or being active in a game. Practice days count towards NBA days.

What's the rule on that?

2 way contracts get 45 days or games with the NBA affiliate. The best use of two ways is when your injury bit you call them up for easy stop gaps. Essentially I view them as permanent 10 day contract guys.

Besides the end there, what an enjoyable night of basketball. Loved the effort and the ball movement. I feel much more excited for the season after tonight.

Brogdon is really good, but I didn’t enjoy how easily he scored on Garland.

Remember that he hasn't been in many of those late game situation to secure a win. Larry Drew wanted Clarkson to be the closer last year.

I think he's just not a very good passer. I agree with getting him to play off the ball. When he has the ball in his hands, it should be for the purpose of scoring, not for distributing the ball. Let the others do that.

TT and Love beasted tonight.

Clarkson was contained by Beilein to a limited amount of effective minutes.

Garland, Sexton, and KPJ all has good moments and bad, but more good than bad for all three.

On top of that, there were legit stretches of incredible ball movement and of real, gritty high effort NBA defense. Obviously they’re not ready to put those two things together for 48 minutes, but tonight provides the staff with lots of great tape on how they can/should play and on the opposite what they need to avoid.

As do I. I am just less excited about your avatar. Unless it's a self-portrait, in which case - knock yourself out...

Late game situations are always weird. Guys that get foul calls tend to be teams closers. The refs always seem to make more foul calls on respect for a guy more than anything. Offense always stagnate down the stretch of a game.

I think he needs chances to try to close games out. If refs start respecting him and call fouls, he can be effective.
