Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It’s as though one is a 37 year old veteran playing on a bad team, while the other is a 23 year old playing on a bad team.

Much like Ryan Tannehill, I’d imagine a similar career path for Rosen once he’s able to choose his own team and get out of that unfortunate situation.

I honestly just think Josh Rosen is a bonafide scrub. Thought so when he was coming out of college - he was the one QB pick I would have been completely disgusted with.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is going to be 37 in a few weeks and he's got the same team problems that Rosen has, since they're literally on the exact same team.

Fitz: 8 TD, 8 INT, 61.5 CMP%, 170.5 YD/G, 77.5 rate
Rosen: 1 TD, 5 INT, 53.5 CMP%, 94.5 TD/G, 52 rate

Fitz and Rosen have taken a combined 33 sacks this year already.

Josh Rosen has career backup written all over him.
Not to mention Fitz in the last 5 games averaging 65% 7 tds to 4 ints and 100 rating....but Rosens 52% 1td 5 int. is cause ...Dolphins

I'm probably just biased because I don't like Rosen at all. I think he's kind of a douche. If he proves me wrong and goes on to be a competent starter, then good for him in all sincerity, but I don't see it.

I'd say Rosen's career path is closer to Ryan Leaf/Jamarcus than Tannehill. Even career backups need a minimum level of competence; Fitzy is. in fact, the perfect example of hovering around that threshold.

Rosen is indeed a douche/spoiled brat. I remember when it was rumored that he would refuse or at least strongly dislike playing here, and he all but confirmed it. Ironic that in addition to the rumors of him not liking the weather/smaller city/etc., he said that he would be "better off being drafted later in a better situation than higher in a worse situation" given the quagmires on offense he ended up in.

One of them.

Anything else?

How is only one player getting excuses made for them here? I see some people making excuses for Baker & others trying to say that Rosen isn't playing well because of a bad organization. Isn't that excuses for both of them?

Lions don’t concern themselves with Sheep and well, Baker is a Lion and Rosen is a fucking sheep.

Why do we care about that bum.

Let’s focus on ways our future superstar franchise QB can continue to get better like he has the past 3 weeks.

Hue was a bad HC, but did he really do anything to Baker to really warrant what was public humiliation? I
I feel like the ineptitude and sins of Hue Jackson are starting to be forgotten on this board because of how bad Freddie has been

Hue wasn’t just a bad coach, he was a manipulative liar who constantly threw other coaches and his players under the bus. It wasn’t just an incompetent coach, it was an awful leader who constantly put his subordinates down. A guy who immediately went back to the place he tried to trade a second and third rounder to for AJ McCarron which became more and more suspicious that Hue was setting up a future path. Couldn’t even wait a month before hand.

Hue deserves no sympathy and it brought the team together at the time.

How do we know he’s a lion? Seriously. Do you personally know the guy?

The expectations being set for Baker are ridiculous, impossible to live up to.

And yet every time he doesn't live up to those ridiculous expectations you are one of the first to dump on him.

He is joking.

Yesterday, Triplethreat said that the expectations for Mayfield are too high for people around here. Today, he says Mayfield is a lion and future superstar.

Baker set the bar high for himself both through his play in 2018 and his words (he talks a big game). He's not living up to the standard. That said, I think he still can, and will, in fact. It will just take longer than we hoped and expected.
