Kluber Traded to Rangers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is disappointing. DeShields is not very good.

What are you guys trying to post

All I could find is that he made a ton of progress last season specifically, making his way to the big club and pitching well. 21 years old, hard thrower with a great cutter, made one major league start but might be a closer in the future.

Throws 101 and had a 2.31 ERA in relief last year.

Clase throws two pitches.

An 80 grade fastball and a 50 grade slider.

He was under 2 BB/9 in the minors before being called up straight from AA last year.

Didn't generate as many swings and misses as you would like during his MLB stint in the second half, but averaged 99+ on his fastball, and almost 91 on his slider.

Per fangraphs Clase's Cutter is one of the best they have ever seen!

If they get one quality bat, it's a good trade. Clase has legit upside, especially with this team and their trend of developing raw arm talent.

Hopefully Willie Calhoun is the 3rd piece for Indians dude can rake.

For those saying "why not hold onto him" might want to look at the decline in his metrics when he WAS healthy this past season.

They held him last year when his value was at its highest, now you want to do the same thing again in the hopes that a pitcher with a ton of miles suddenly finds his groove again after multiple 200+ inning seasons and a high price tag?

I'm not over the moon for the return (LOVE Clase), but do you really not trust this front office to get the most value out of an asset?

EDIT: Deal not done yet.
