Kluber Traded to Rangers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm no Dolan fan, but this is ridiculous. Cashing in on Kluber has been a year overdue.

Dolan is apparently looking to sell the team anyway..
what??

It was pretty widely reported that Dolan discussed selling the team to Sherman, who ultimately decided to buy the Royals instead.

Afterwards, I believe both @BimboColesHair and @AZ_ have mentioned that the Dolans are looking around for potential buyers.

The prevailing thought from those I talked to were that:

1. They were blindsided by the news of Sherman potentially buying the Indians. Not surprising, as they don't work at that level with regards to the front office.

2. Now believe that since Sherman has backed off, the horse has left the barn with regards to the intention of the Dolans, who will likely look around for new opportunities as they continue their interest in selling.

More often when you sell - you try to increase product value

The payroll might be $85 million on Opening Day. What a joke.

I don’t remember reading or hearing hardly anyone say they shouldn’t have picked up Kluber’s option.
Seemed to be the prevailing line of thinking from most of the casuals I saw both on here and on Twitter.

Free agency has changed in major league baseball in the past three years. It's no longer a race to get the most talent. With more front offices trying to do what the Indians have been doing for the past dozen or so years, there is going to be unsigned veteran talent up through spring training. There's just no reason to be all worked up in December about the roster. The best major league teams who aren't a major market like New York or New England are the teams with the best farm. I'm not too active in this Indians forum, but I'm watching the league closely... the Indians and As set the template that even bigger markets like LA and SF are trying to emulate.
