New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I watched the whole season 1.

PROS:
- Good Story
- Above average production values
- Relatively fast plot
- boobies

CONS:
- dialogues!!! were they written by hormonal teenagers ?
- subpar direction
- acting
- not enough boobies

I don't agree that it has above average production value. At times it looks amazing but alot of the times it felt like I was watching Xena Warrior Princess from the late 90's.

Was hoping that we would see havelock again. Would've been neat to see how he and his girlfriend ended up since she was added for the show. Maybe that's why he isn't there?

Im gonna have to do a season three and four rewatch too. Feel like i was a little bit off even though ive read the books.

Witcher was solid. Got lost a few times with the jumps in the story, but enjoyed it.

Lost in space season 2 just dropped too

I was comparing it to more the SciFy TV series and felt these were moderately better - but that is a fair point it is not in the realm of GOT at all. Plus after a while u get numb to the production values and the average acting.

I really enjoyed "You" season 2 and "Lost in Space" season 2. Both were well pace and made for easy binging. Like the first season of Lost in Space, I felt like 10 episodes wasn't enough.

I questioned how they were going make a season 2 of "You" but they made a good continuation of the story while keeping to the same formula.

I think Netflix throw alot of money into the Witcher. Hopefully they change out some of the production group so they get that quality of production and probably direction to match the dollars they put into it.

I too have enjoyed You so far. I finished season 1 and 1 episode of season 2. Definitely a good show to watch with the wife.

Other shows I've enjoyed during their current season:
1) Superstore
2) Shameless
3) This Is Us
4) Marvelous Ms. Maisel

I really like season 3 of Marvelous Ms Maisel. I think they surprise me how they keep it an entertaining show thru out. Each season is different but they progress the series well.

I have finished 3 episodes of this season so far.

The original book author is finishing the 3rd book and plans on a 4th; I think they should go 4 seasons and call it quits.

They obviously are making some significant changes from Hidden Bodies. Interesting new twist on Henderson; obviously, if *that* is true, it's basically the one vigilante move that people would consider justifying with Joe.

I'm guessing the actor who played Havelock got a gig on another show and that's why he isn't there. That's the issue with dropping characters for multiple seasons, and it's probably also why they had Clarissa appear briefly near the beginning of season four so they could keep her under contract for later.

I think with British tv they can bring actors back really easily because of the length of seasons and close proximity of filming locations.

With American tv if the actor isn't locked into the regular cast they might end up not having the time if they get cast on another show. Certain shows have the luxury of being picked up for multiple seasons so they can play out contracts for smaller characters. The expanse didn't have that luxury. Also Jay Hernandez is now the lead on Magnum PI and that shots in Hawaii.

Agreed, an HD version of Xena is exactly what it resembled at times.

If you’re a person that pushed on after the first few episodes we’re just not going to agree on anything.

I found myself literally making fun of it MST3K style as it went along.

Just super tropey, cheesy, and unintentionally funny.

Talking of MST3K, I am sad that Netflix cancelled it.

I thought Witcher season 1 was pretty good and has a chance going forward to be great with some polish. (pun intended)

They got the most important things right: casting of the main characters and the tone and general look of the universe. Cavill absolutely nails Geralt and both Yennefer and Ciri are very good. Jaskier is fantastic as well.

They also managed to introduce the 3 main characters in what I thought was a pretty elegant way in the first season despite the fact that stories told take place over the span of many decades. I know a lot of people disagree with that and were confused by the separate timelines, especially those unfamiliar with the Witcher, but I thought it was done fairly neatly considering the narrative ground that needed to be covered.

To me, the weak points were mostly the inconsistent production value, specifically with regards to cinematography and lighting, and some of the minor casting choices. A lot of scenes look stunning....while others just look amateurish. It's a pretty wild range of quality. Some of the CGI (dragon) was clearly low budget.

Hopefully some of the problems can in part be remedied from a higher budget in future seasons, but I will be looking forward to them regardless.

Continuing my rewatch of season four of The Expanse and the way they turned Ashford from a throwaway villain in the books to one of the best characters on the show is fantastic. Love the actor they hired and he knocks the role out of the park.

Not sure why I was just wondering this, but did they make the meth in Breaking Bad the color blue because it allowed them to use so many perfect songs with the word blue in it?
