Sexton to Exum
All up in your rectum.
All up in your rectum.
Playing well in his first few minutes on the floor but visibly sucking wind out there now after a couple steals and fast breaks.
They need to ease him into the rotation especially since he didn't look in game shape. I personally thought Beilein was going to give Knight his chance to prove his worth and Exum would be used here and there until they could trade Knight away. The second unit might actually need Knights scoring more than the defense that Exum gives right now. It's too sharp of a learning curve to go from the unit being centered around Clarkson to all these guys trying to pick up the offensive slack with a new piece who isn't really a scoring threat.
Knight simply isn't good anymore. I am not saying Exum is good but playing Knight will not increase his value it will likely decrease it with how bad hes gotten. Knight is nothing more then expiring to sell to a team his play ain't going to increase his value.
Clarkson in his Utah debut. 4/12 for 9 points 1 steal in 21 minutes.
Exum in his Cleveland debut. 3/3 for 9 points 3 steals in 15 minutes.
Did he look rusty? Yeah but he was at least semi productive. While Clarkson had his typical lets shoot and pray it goes in night. Really not sure why people are already wanting Exum benched for Knight who has looked horrible when given minutes this year. When Exum was rusty and still produced.
I couldn't help but notice that if you add an "e" to his name it spells "exume". Which is what the Cavs want to do with his career.
IIRC, quickness was supposed to be one of Exum's big things offensively. But that's a tricky thing to judge in a prospect, and his torn ACL may have made him another half-step slower. Without that blow-by ability, he really can't do much to create offense.
Looking on the bright side, he's been a steady ~80% foul shooter the last few years, so maybe the 3-ball will start to fall. If that happens, then sure, he checks a lot of boxes for a roleplayer SG. I'm not holding my breath though.

He got by guys tonight. I laughed when he got the ball right back to Nance in the post as if Nance could do anything with it.
He hit a 3.
He looked better than I thought and his passing was really pretty good.
That bench unit could not score at all though. Nance, Henson, Exum, Delly and Porter. There is one scorer in Porter there and he didn't get the ball until the 2nd half playing with Love and Tristan. Garland didn't do a lot this game.
He is not in shape at all. Don't know how we can afford another non scorer in that unit, but overall I would say better than expected.
Hopefully Windler comes back. The one thing the 2nd unit has been missing all year is a sniper to spread the floor. The starters have Garland, Osman, KLove who can all hit threes albeit not as consistently as you would like. But a 2nd unit of Exum (Defense and Playmaking) KPJ (Go to Scorer) Windler (3 Point Sniper) Nance (I don't know what he provides he can jump high and can hit a 3 if open sometimes) Henson (Rim Protection) could be effective.
Yep. KPJ has been good on 3s lately, but he just isn't comfortable taking a good volume yet.
Still excited by Windler, but his leg is worrying.
Look for a team that needs some pg depthKnight simply isn't good anymore. I am not saying Exum is good but playing Knight will not increase his value it will likely decrease it with how bad hes gotten. Garland and porter should start. Sexton takes clarksons spot[
