2020 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So who are the guaranteed top9 guys:
Burrow
Tua
A third QB?
Chase Young
Okudah
Any of the WR's gtd to be taken that high?
Wish there was a RB and second WR locked in.

Basically, we want the highest possible number of QB's, CB's, WR's, RB's and even DE's taken ahead of us. So that we have the highest number of high end OT, LB, or DT available. Need at TE and S as well, but not sure I see that as a top10 pick, unless you truly see Delpit as a Earl Thomas, Ed Reed, Troy P, type player

Most mocks I've seen have 3 OT's in the top ten. I've seen Herbert and Jeudy showing up as well, which would bode well for us.

Thank got the OT crop this year looks elite.

Early look:

1. Bengals - Joe Burrow
2. Redskins - Chase Young
3. Lions - CB/EDGE/S (Okudah, Simmons, Delpit)
4. Giants - OT/WR/EDGE/CB (Lamb/Jeudy, Okudah, Epenesa, Thomas/Wills)
5. Dolphins - QB/OT/DL/EDGE/CB (Total wildcard)
6. Chargers - OT/Future QB/Secondary (Simmons, Thomas/Wills)
7. Panthers - OT*/EDGE/DB (Think they're locked in on OT here)
8. Cardinals - OT/Defense (Simmons/Brown/OT)
9. Jaguars - Defense (Simmons/Epenesa/Murray)
10. Browns

Agree. Although I could see a QB-hungry team trading up to 3 or 4 if they want to jump Miami.

As much as we need help at OT, I'd have a really hard time passing on Simmons. Pretty much the prototype hybrid for the modern NFL pass defense. His playmaking ability paired with Greedy, Ward, and Garrett up front could really transform the defense and take it to the next level.

It's really tempting to go along with you here, especially the way he played in pass coverage against Ohio State a few weekends back. I don't see the Browns passing on a blue chip offensive tackle for him, though. Remember: we haven't seen the finished product of both Takitaki and Wilson. I believe in Takitaki against the run and in blitz packages, I just don't think he saw the field because he is new to zone coverage. Once he gets zone concepts down and doesn't overthink it, linebacker isn't going to be a big problem for the Browns. Meanwhile, there is no answer in sight for offensive tackle on either side.

Klutch Sports, the company was going to fall apart as soon as LeBron retires according to many on the board, has signed Chase Young and Okudah as well as bought/took in the company that reps Alvin Kamara and Jarvis Landry.

I can agree with both of ya. Williams from Washington or FA signing then a 2nd round OT solves our OT issue. There is a ton of OT in this draft. I also don't have a issue with 1st round OT and a 2nd round OT. There should be a starting OT in the 2nd round but I don't think we get a Simmons type player in 2nd round. That defense would be nasty.

I'm looking forward to discussing roster construction once the coaching/GM talk comes to a close. One thing that is exciting would be if they decide to go for an offensively inclined playcaller as a head coach and that guy believes he can scheme around some rookie OTs who aren't first rounders. They might also give Jack Conklin a physical and determine that he is healthier now than he was last season, throwing starter money on at the young former All Pro.

At that point, a guy like Simmons or Derrick Brown - if he falls - could be in play.

Just starting going thru PFF's 2020 draft book. It is even bigger this year. Here is what they are saying on OTs. some different views.

1. Wirfs Iowa 1st round
2. Thomas Georgia 1st round
3. Leatherwood Alabama--isnt he going back? 1st round
4. Cosmi Texas 1st-2nd round
5. Jones Houston 2nd round

Adams Washington 4th round
Cleveland Boise 4th round
Driscoll Auburn 4th round
Eichenberg ND 4th round
Hilbers Washington 3rd round
Jackson Iowa 5th round
Smith Tenn 5th round
Van Lanen Wis 5th round
Wonogho auburn 3rd-4th round
Willis alabama 3rd round

Some quick hits from PFF

--Like Jeudy over Lamb
--Tua over Burrows. Feel Herbert and Burrows are comparable and Tua is by himself
--Wirfs over Thomas but really close
--still high on Delpit
--Dont see Brown as a top 10 pick like Wilson and Kinlaw better
--Young and Okudah top 2 defenders
--Fulton and Hall 2nd and 3rd best CB
