R.I.P Kobe Bryant

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Since the assault thing is being brought up...

There’s a pretty good case that she wasn’t assaulted.

Too soon. They said the same thing about Kerrygold butter.

Assaulted, un-assaulted... It's just too soon. Don't even think about a "sweet cream" or "spread" joke.

Too soon.

New father here; imagining being in that scenario knowing you will die is terrifying. Being in that scenario, while your child looks at you; knowing they too will die.....is one of the most heart breaking things I can think of. I admit, I shed a few tears today. I was pretty upset about Kobe's death. I mean, ya we hated the guy, but he put on a show every game and was someone we grew up watching.

Once I heard his children might be involved, I was F5ing like a mad man and actually praying it wasnt true (I pray for nothing).

Once I heard Gigi was involved I cried.

I doubt a helicopter crash death in real life is anything like a scene from a movie. Likely it happened so quickly nobody knew wtf was happening, as the were going at 184mph through fog according to initial data. And humans most likely imagine they will survive most events.

Kobe was likely panicked and scared, but I doubt he knew he was going to die. Ever been in a car accident? It happens so fast you just react and aren’t thinking.

I dunno. Unless it burst into flame in the air, which would be extremely unusual, you'd have time. Maybe caught a power line, tree or something in that weather, rotors were damaged, and it fell. But I guess it's all speculation at this point.

Not really something you want to think about, though.

At best he cheated on his wife 5 months after their first child was born with a 19 year old. At worst he raped that 19 year old. We don't know for sure either way. But there's enough of a question about it that I hope the Cavs don't retire his #.

As someone who’s been in a situation where they thought they were going to die... no, it really is not.

So fucking depressing today.

TIme for a Hollywood, locking eyes with daughter, this is it, moment? Highly unlikely. They prob didn’t even know it was about to crash until 1-2 sec before impact. If it comforts you to think that, fine, but the reality of death is much more grim than the movies.

It’s a huge tragedy no doubt. But we also watch too many movies.

What is this knowledge based on regarding this specific scenario?

My experience in a chopper that is going down gave me enough time to be scared shitless. Your's obviously was different.

Yeah, being on a chopper going into a rapid descent is definitely something you feel.

They were at an altitude of 2400 feet, crashed at 1400 feet, and descended at a rate of 4000 feet per minute.

That’s roughly 15 seconds, which feels like a lifetime when you’re in the air.

I'm hoping the passengers all passed out before death.
