Ohio, UH emergency in Ridgeville to be specific.which state ? My understanding is that Ohio requires a script from your PCP, and that the protocol is not to write a script for the test unless you have first been tested (negative) for Flu and pneumonia or have been exposed to a person with confirmed COVID.
This is a really interesting story. WHY has one family been hit so hard? Note that the dinner was on March 10th. This can't be a coincidence -- either the virus mutated within Rita (one of the very first people identified as ill in NJ) OR there's something genetic within this family. There has to be a reason why this family was hit so hard. Might provide useful information on vulnerability / mortality.
From NJ.com:
Report: Mother, two children die from coronovirus after family dinner in N.J.
The matriarch of a large family and her two eldest children have died from coronavirus after attending a family dinner in New Jersey, the New York Times reports.
The victims apparently include the first person to die from the disease in Pennsylvania.
The Times said Grace Fusco — mother of 11, grandmother of 27 — died Wednesday not knowing her daughter Rita Fusco-Jackson, 55, of Freehold, N.J., died Friday and her son Carmine Fusco, of Bath, Pa., had died hours earlier on Wednesday.
Four other children remain hospitalized, three of them in critical condition, the Times said quoting a relative, Roseann Paradiso Fodera.
The family had gathered at Grace Fusco’s Freehold home for a dinner March 10, the Times said. A person who had contact with the first person to die of COVID-19 in New Jersey attended the dinner.
New Jersey has reported five coronavirus deaths; Pennsylvania one.

Can't see what Carmine's age was, but these are older people despite the headline using the word "children". Could it be the all three had some other health issue in play that compromised their immune systems? (note that I can't get behind the NYT paywall, so if those details are in there, my apologies).

If we can reproduce this case study, then this is really positive news.
Let us NEVER forget how this shitstorm was created:
That is curious, but also very very sad. That's a lot of loss for just one family to bear.
Same can be said everywhere it's spread, even having that hindsight, US is still lagging in testing and intervention.
Can’t test whole nations. This worked because they are isolated and they isolated the virus within that population. We are still not even sure you have immunity after you get trough infection. Hopefully this is not true. If it is... NWOThat's why I keep thinking that the primary virtue of the current social distancing, etc., isn't buying time to find a cure or vaccine -- it's to buy time until testing is more widely available. That's the point at which we can begin thinking about a return to normalcy.
