I understand there are elements of discussing this virus that are intertwined with the political landscape. However, we as a website all agreed to keep political discussion contained in a separate part of the forum. There is a thread on the political element of Covid 19 in that forum. Please hash it out there.

But you can have things like "if you've been tested and cleared then you can return to work, otherwise stay isolated." It may not be a great solution in more compact central urban areas, but it may be viable for a lot of other places. And again, some folks being bale to return to normalcy extends the time we can keep others isolated.

The most important reason for testing is it's the most effective way to keep people who have it from spreading it.

Second most important reason for testing is to ramp up the number of people who are known to be no longer susceptible. People who can no longer catch the virus can do a lot of things people who can catch it shouldn't do right now. Identifying as many of the people in that group as possible allows for a quicker return to normalcy.

Lack of extensive testing is causing additional harm to the economy, both now and in the future.

Governors are meeting with the white house today and the daily update is to follow. Could today be the day?

I have felt that the Governors, specifically DeWine, have been waiting for assurances/details on the money the Federal Govt is planning on sending to people before enacting an order that would truly put all non-essential industries on hold for the time being. Looks like they're relatively close to something on that front, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them announce a full scale lockdown probably with a couple of days notice or so.

There Will be studies later but I for one would not be surprised if NYC is, in fact, more likrly to spread the virus because they are the one big city in this country who relies heavily on mass transit. Compared to LA and Chicago its not close either.

Since the conversation has clearly turned political, I will be locking this up for an hour or so for clean up.

EDIT - let's try again...

That is curious, but also very very sad. That's a lot of loss for just one family to bear. :(

I know, I hated liking it, felt wrong, scares me for my family, but we need to figure out the science on this and unfortunately its a test case.

Was in NYC last night to pick up an immunocompromised person who needed to get out. Atmosphere down there is pretty unbelievable. Big signs on the highway all saying things like "STAY HOME SAVE LIVES STOP THE SPREAD." Literally felt like i was living in some plague video game.

You mean like The Division, which literally takes place in post-plague NYC? :chuckle:

The first line of this review is pretty great:
