Michigan offense was really out of sync with their new system this year and they never quite figured out how to get him the ball enough. Patterson really struggled pushing the ball down the field.
I think if you watch all-22 on DPJ, you will be pleasantly surprised by how often and well he separated......especially when running those less sudden vertical routes......corner, fade, post, skinny post, go, mesh stuff underneath. He’s not great at driving off of the steeper breaking routes but I also doubt we ask him to do any of that.
He’s also good at hand catching, adjusting to the football and making tough catches. I think he needed to be in the right system and receiver room and certainly think he can do damage against the 3rd best cover man on any given team, at the NFL level.
