2020 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sleepers anyone? I mean actual sleepers , not ones consistently mocked lower by media outlets like Stewart who is late or fringe lottery level lock in any draft or others like Xavier Tillman or Mason Jones who are mocked lower due to age.
No I am talking about high upside solid NBA prospects who have no reason to be mocked as 2nd rounders.
Example:
I am really intrigued by the motor and rebounding esp but just overall sneaky good passing finishing and bbiq of 2nd year swingman Nate Hinton ;Houston.
Personally see just as much skill level there as many of the top ranked prospects in the draft.
I'd consider picking as high as 6th even though you could probably get him at 18 or after.
There are better specialists but few that have the matching relentless hunger at the 2 or 3 in this draft and imo that is enough to believe in the upside: (Jimmy Butler) great video comp here:

Impressive highlights for sure.

Impressive highlights for sure.
yeah I know just highlights, but that is why he is slept on I guess, people dismiss highlights and often rightly so but when in fact they are actual not just highlights as much as they are examples of the norm of what a player always brings to the table they are worthy of recognition.

Still like Garza as a sparkplug scorer. He had arguably a top-5 offensive season by a big man in the last decade, and did it against a tough Big 10 schedule. Would happily spend an early 2nd rounder on him and see if it translates.

This might be the exact opposite of what the prompt was searching for, but I'm still not sure why the Duke kids are mocked so low (Carey Jr. and Stanley).

Based on production, I'm surprised Carey isn't looking at late lotto and I would think Stanley's athleticism alone would push him to the first round given his solid production.

Paul Reed is another guy that has been mentioned in here a few times.

Kira Lewis Jr, Sexton's successor at Bama, is actually intriguing given his young age as a sophomore. Had a high steal rate, too.

Xavier Tillman
Daniel Oturu
those are a few Big 10 big men I liked.

He looks very tough. How is he different from a guy like Nwaba? I guess he shoots the 3 better? His 2pt% is bad. He only scored 10 points a game. 2 assists. His passing looked better in the highlights than it actually was?

Is he a really good defender? 6'5" not that big. But maybe he could soak up 3 minutes with his physicality?

Seems like a hustle guy with 3 and D potential. His rebounding is impressive. I think it won't 100% translate, but he has that nose for the ball which will.

Well his character was evident, it's great to see players playing that way.

Actually he seems like a really smart guy bball wise. Especially the way he talks about rebounding and defense, it's like he's a vet already.

Great interview and analysis of his game. Really like the guy, hope he does well.

The second round prospect I like isn't a secret anymore, Robert Woodard II.

Isn't much of a dribbler or playmaker, but with some work on his perimeter defense I see a very good depth small forward. Legit three point shooter, 6-foot-7 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan and good athleticism. I've watched a lot of Killian Tillie of Gonzaga, and he could be a project big.

he will definitely be able to defend the majority if not all sf's with his decent length and motor.
I don't think the stats tell the story of what he could become. The kid is a gamer and single handedly changed outcomes all season.
I put him in the same category as the more explosive but more raw Okoro defensively and his handle is decent enough , outside shooting is there on a small sample etc.

like the upside as a target high 2nd & would like to have seen those 3 point attempts be a larger sample size like a lot of these sleepers. I was actually surprised he declared this time, but would not be surprised if some rank him in a similar range as Patrick Williams although I think WIlliams will be the better pro.

he should get enough interest to stay in the draft for sure

Yeah, I mean even in highlights he looks like he is outworking everybody. Sort of a SF Tristan?

I am really interested in whether the Cavs try to get another first or more seconds to stash guys in the Gleague.

Sounds like the next @Sir'Dom Pointer

We know the Cavs love hard workers who improve, and very few college players improved from their freshman season to their sophomore season as Robert Woodard II. He was a backup PF as a freshman who became a go-to scorer as an undersized power forward as a sophomore, adding that shooting range in the off-season. I was interested to learn his father is still the all-time scoring leader for Mississippi high school basketball and also an alum at Mississippi State. If he is still there at the top of the second, I'd jump on it.
