2020 Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If it's a straight up swap I don't think it's bad for either side. Hayward starts at SF and plays some PF in certain lineups. Okoro comes off the bench and allows him time to grow. They would push to resign TT. I think it may allow KPJ to start with Sexton. Starting lineup would be Sexton-KPJ-Hayward-Love-TT. Garland, Windler, Cedi, Okoro, and Nance off the bench.
I see two big problems with the deal:

1) I don’t see how there’s enough minutes to go around at the 2/3 among Sexton, KPJ, Hayward, Okoro, Osman, & Windler.

2) it takes away our only starting caliber center, unless the Cavs have designs on re-signing Tristan. Obviously Drummond is a better center than Tristan is, so you’re taking a step back there and for what?

If they did it, they would be moving to more of a modern NBA lineups. The wings would be playing SG, SF, and PF. Alot more 1 guard, 3 wings, and 1 Big lineups. Hayward can play point forward so Sexton can log more minutes as a PG. I also think Hayward is a good player for Cedi and Windler to learn from. I also don't think Love, TT, or Nance log heavy minutes. Love and Nance log minutes at center but play less minutes to conserve their bodies.

We also have to remember that this season will be more condensed and less of a time for training camp. They may want to not give heavy minutes to that many players. We might see larger rotations and guys getting night off to prevent injury. Even young guys might get time off because they won't be use to playing so often.

They're trying to make Porter a two with some playing time at the one. I know,Bickerstaff wanted to see,how Porter would playing at the one but the season was suspended.
Yep, they think Porter is a really good passer and were/are intrigued about trying him as an initiator similar to Harden.

Which could give us a starting lineup of Sexton, Porter, Okoro, Love and Drummond with Garland, Windler and Nance rounding out the rotation.

We don't need another 2 or 3 so Hayward for Drummond makes no sense. It would have to be a prelude to another deal where we flip Hayward and something else (Garland?) for a young power forward. We would also have to sign Thompson so we have at least one true center on the roster.

Haywood for Drummond sounds like somebody made it up and is trolling.

I think they are going to try to let Porter run the 2nd unit. If he wants ball handling opportunities it is probably best he comes off the bench. It is hilarious, I could see our bench backcourt being huge with KPJ and Windler/Cedi while the starting backcourt is tiny with 2 guys under 6'5"

I like KPJ, but the problems he's been having recently are very concerning. I don't think you can pencil him in for anything until he starts snowing some stability.

Hayward opted out. Knicks apparently gonna max him. Glad its the Knicks and not us.

Good! He’ll help the Knicks. We didn’t need him. I’m sure the Celtics will still try to work a sign & trade so they can get something back in return.

I just can't comment on it. The fight thing is impossible to determine and no charges were filed.

I think the gun thing is crazy, and no one should travel with a gun like that. However people get really cavalier about guns. I know 2 salesmen that always travel with them in the car. One has it locked in his glove compartment, but the other keeps it in the door. I dunno if it is loaded, but he talks about it as if it is. That's in another state, maybe it's ok there. I have no idea. I am not surprised a 19 year old with a hand gun doesn't know the ins and outs of the law. My great grandfather had spot on the couch where he cleaned his rifle. He had a hole in the ceiling and one in the floor in that spot from times he thought it wasn't loaded. He wasn't a dope. Forgetting a gun is loaded seems pretty easy, and lots of people have died from that mistake.

I saw a video of an FBI agent doing the worm last year and the gun fell out and went off in a crowded room. He was fired.

I know a pretty famous rapper who walks around with a loaded handgun in his backback all the time.

Too Short went to the Airport, heard the ding go off from the xray with his gun in his carry on that he forgot and he walked out of the airport in sock feet and went home.

As far as I know, he was trying to drive back from NYC to Cleveland and fell asleep. I have been in that exact situation minus the gun part and luckily I woke up instead of flipping off the road. If he pulled the gun on someone or was coming back from a drug deal instead of a practice facility I would feel much differently.

I really hope Bickerstaff takes him aside and says, "We support you, we have your back. What you did was not smart, and you endangered yourself and your place on this team. I want to put the ball in your hands so you can help lead this team, but I can't if you are making bad decisions. I won't be able to trust you and your team won't be able to trust you. You have to make good decisions to be a part of what we are building. Even if you don't mind letting yourself down, your teammates and coaches don't deserve to be let down in this way. That's all I am going to say about this."

He would help more then Drummond who despite the numbers has always been a negative player. Lots of empty stats from Drummond. Could have been a good mentor for our young wings. But I would not have wanted to extend him.
