2020 Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also just wanted to make sure I agreed that Gordon Hayward opting out is historically dumb.

As stupid as the Knicks are, they’re not offering anywhere near that. I’ll be surprised if they’ll even offer him $20 million per year.

Dude is in his 30’s now and even though his numbers were pretty solid last year, he’s still not what he was before his freak injury. One thing to remember about his stats is that he played for a great coach who gets the most out of his guys.... Thibodeau sucks offensively.

Him turning down $34 million for one season is hysterical.

He's coming off a season where he was 17 PPG 7 RPG 4 APG on 50% from the field and 38% from 3. He was actually damn solid last season and wasn't even a focal point but was actually quite productive on a damn solid team. On a team like the Knicks he could easily be back to 20 PPG for the next couple of seasons.

He looked completely cooked vs Miami in the playoffs

There's some decent young "lottery ticket" bigs out there.

Maker (age joke upcoming), Diallo, Harry Giles.

Wouldn't mind seeing us take a chance on one of them.

Completely washed or not in game shape? I would say it was moreso he wasn't game ready. He had missed the previous 2 weeks before Boston dumbly brought him back for the last 4 games of the Miami series. He left the bubble and came back. Was a weird situation.

Yeah he was injured. Hard to say. Glad it's not us

Rumors he had some issues with Boston featuring Jaylen and Tatum. That opt out makes no sense. I dont think he can be a featured player anymore

Drummond is a beast on the boards and he can run the P&R. I’d still sign him for a reasonable sum, which would be something in the range that Clint Capela got.

hes a beast on the boards because he completely sells out to get them. Same with blocks.

If he would accept a role similar to what Capela does he would be a great player. The problem is he plays like a star and does too much which turns him from a player that helps to a player that just stockpiles meaningless stats.

he should never be allowed to dribble the ball up the court or take 3s. He’s a 7 foot athletic freak stop trying to be AD. Be deandre. He has Dwight Howard syndrome.

I'm wondering what the Cavs will do about their center situation. Their roster is unbalanced. They have plenty of guards between Sexton, Garland, Porter, and Exum even if they don't sign Delly. They have a logjam at small forward with Okoro, Windler, Cedi, and McKinnie, none of whom can play other positions that I'm aware of. They're fine at power forward with Love, Nance, and Bell.

But they only have one center on the roster and I don't think Drummond will be playing 48 minutes a game. Are they going to try to get by for 16 minutes a game with Nance or Love at the 5? Or are they going to sign a backup center, like Thompson or Koufos?

They need to pick up a decent 5. We are one Drummond high ankle sprain away from not having a starting center.
