2020 Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also just wanted to make sure I agreed that Gordon Hayward opting out is historically dumb.

As stupid as the Knicks are, they’re not offering anywhere near that. I’ll be surprised if they’ll even offer him $20 million per year.

Dude is in his 30’s now and even though his numbers were pretty solid last year, he’s still not what he was before his freak injury. One thing to remember about his stats is that he played for a great coach who gets the most out of his guys.... Thibodeau sucks offensively.

Him turning down $34 million for one season is hysterical.
Wojo is reporting that he is looking at signing with the Bucks......he feels he fits better there than Boston.

There's some decent young "lottery ticket" bigs out there. Maker (age joke upcoming), Diallo, Harry Giles. Wouldn't mind seeing us take a chance on one of them.
I like Giles. Started 17 games last year, averaged 10.1 pts and 6.5 rebounds in 20.4 minutes shooting 59.5% from the field. He's 6'11", 245, 22 years old with two years in the league.

Diallo's option has been picked up by the Thunder.

He's intriguing. Some pretty scare knee injury history there but still worth the flier.

Now that is a good pickup. Man he would be giving up a lot of money

Two different Diallos

The one from PHX, Cheick Diallo, is a PF whose option was not picked up today

We have 2 spots, assuming Mooney is a two-way guy or not on team at all.

I would go best player and back up Center, basically TT and Delly replacements

The only roster change we have atm is:
In: Okoro
Out: Zizic

Re-signing TT to a sizable (around or slightly above MLE) 1 yr deal may be mutually beneficial.

- Cavs need front court depth. TT backing up the 4/5 has always been his bread and butter.
- Cavs can pay TT more than anyone else would given the insane cap crunch right now.
- TT can be traded at the deadline to a contender if he’s playing well. He’s expiring money even if he isn’t.
- TT is comfortable here. Beats taking a 1-2 year deal in Detroit or something.

I’d pursue this.

I like it cause it puts pressure on Drummond. You can credibly play tt over him at the end of the game

My big hope for this season is that the Cavs find a way to manufacture a really good asset. The fallout from covid is that there are probably teams who will be struggling financially. Hopefully the Cavs can exploit that and get a nice pick.

Is there a chance we bring back Delly? I really love the stability he offers as a backup and a leader on our team. Sure, there are more talented options out there but you can slot him down and he will not beef. I still think he can help some of the younger guys out as well.

I would not be against bringing him back..The way he coached up Sexton was great.

Delly was the only guard we had that would correctly run the offense and make the proper decisions to increase our scoring effectiveness. I hope he is back.

Wouldn't surprise me if they brought him back
