2020 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They really can't protect anybody on this team or any team. This whole season was a mistake. Not worried about the Illibuck if they manage to play but this bodes horribly for the final stretch.

Maybe they are hoping to squeeze by, take the next week off, and then play Michigan to qualify for the B1G?

The whole season was a mistake by the NCAA or just Ohio State/Big Ten? Because I don’t agree that Ohio State should be sitting out if the rest of the conference is playing. It is what it is at this point. I wouldn’t hate postponing the playoffs/bowls but the NCAA has no interest in doing so.

Everyone needs to relax. Could the spread continue? Sure. But in this moment the team is under the threshold. Thus, they should play. Next week isn’t guaranteed, neither is The Game two weeks from now.

This obviously fucking sucks but going into the fetal position ain’t it.

I mean NCAA football on the whole, not putting all the blame on the school or conference certainly. Any American sports league that isn't operating in a bubble without fans is contributing to the spread of the virus nationwide. And the protocols in place have done very little to protect the players from contracting the virus. The top coach and top QB already caught it before this Ohio State breakout. It's a fucking mess across the country for the sake of a weird ass season that may or may not crown a contested champion when all's said and done. (Of course, I'm still watching the games and rooting for my team...)

At first I thought when the B1G cancelled that the other leagues would come to their senses. Instead, the B1G buckled under pressure and gave us this clearly flawed season schedule. But beyond the implications for our own ability to compete, I'm mostly concerned about the broader issue of playing on in a pandemic.

Eh. You guys no me feelings on this.

Everyone else out there has to go to work regardless of the virus. If someone gets sick, the place of business rarely shuts down.

The players are in a better position than most. They were allowed to opt out of the season and keep their scholarship. If they're worried about their own health, they can make that decision on their own.

They're playing sports all over the world.

This is just the world we currently live in now.

That’s about where I come out on it, though I won’t lie the sport as a whole feels watered down.

Most places don’t have the uncontrolled spread that we do. I mean, a ton of people started taking this seriously when sports got cancelled, would’ve been nice to see more good examples from these leagues.

More importantly, it’s not just the people involved that are at risk, it’s everyone they spread the virus to. Not to mention all the crowds in other conferences and gatherings that take place for college games.

I really wish people weren’t forced back to work in dangerous conditions in general, so I can’t say these kids have it as bad as a lot of Americans right now, of course.

When all the college football coaches (including Day) started switching to those mesh facemasks I knew it was going to be trouble. You could clearly see their nose and mouth thru them. If they weren't taking it seriously, my guess is their teams weren't either. Can't expect all those PSAs to work if you cayn even wear a proper mask for a couple hours on game day.

I'm actually surprised that Ohio State didn't bubble the team off when the Maryland game got cancelled. The spread has been high in Columbus for a while. There is an argument to be made if they weren't the team to be the cause for cancelling a game but now they are and they have zero wiggle room going forward. Now they have to also hope that michigan and michigan state stay good.

Hard to imagine that they will only have one game canceled. I have to think MSU game is unlikely as well. Can a 5-0 OSU team get in there? I am not sure how the committee will view that

Can’t go to Indy. So, I’m guessing that’s a negative on playoff.

I don’t know the legality of it. But, I would try to have OSU schedule Wisconsin the week of the BIG championship if they don’t have enough games to qualify. It would give them a good data point. I don’t know if Wisconsin would want to or not

Michigan state hasn't been good this year. If the Buckeyes want to get to the big ten championship game and the playoffs, they need put every players into the team hotel in individual rooms and isolate them for the next 4-5 days. Food brought to the door and tested with PCR tests everyday. Hope they can practice by Thursday and put a game plan together virtually.

Pathetic watching our Big Ten rivals celebrate this. As if they couldnt get any lower.
