2020 Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Windy just throws stuff against the wall then complains about being aggregated. It’s his thing. Maybe it coincided with me watching less tv but he hasn’t been on ESPN or radio as much. Seems like I couldn’t avoid him when LeBron was on the Cavs.

If true, then I’m glad the Bulls were the ones to take that gamble.

I find it a little hard to believe. There was a lot of people saying the last few days there was suddenly more Okoro talk. Maybe the Bulls were originally going to trade back, but then heard the Cavs liked him?

Big one is Okoro worked out for Minny, Warriors, and Cavs. He pulled out of the combine because the Cavs were more interested in Williams? Have to think they gave him some indication.

There was Okoro saying his favorite NBA moment was Cavs beating the Warriors.

Too many indicators. I believe the Cavs liked Williams, and I would believe they had him over Vassell or Deni.

Everything I read about was trending towards an Okoro/Deni/Toppin outcome and I believed or hoped the Toppin hype was the smokescreen. I wanted Okoro or Okongwu personally but the Patrick Williams videos I saw were pretty intriguing.

I also find it interesting how the Kawhi Leonard comps completely vary from Mikel Bridges, Rui, Hunter and now Patrick. I wonder who will be the best out of these four guys.

I'm surprised, the NBA gave the Cavs 25 minutes of highlights...lol.

Drummond and Tristan should have gotten more highlights...imo
Thanks for posting this - I'm ready for the season to start.

I couldn't help but notice how many of those highlights involved Delly.

That’s the first I have heard of that and I wonder if it’s a rumor originating out of Chicago, as the Bulls have taken some heat for the Williams pick?

By all accounts, the Cavs place a premium on predraft workouts and it doesn’t appear they ever worked out Williams. Plus, Okoro inexplicably shut down his workouts after working out for the Cavs, which implies that he might have been given a promise by the team. The only other teams Okoro worked out for were Minnesota & Golden State, which weren’t realistic options to pick him.

So, I’m calling BS on this one.

It was a good run.

I wonder if they will try to do the same type of deal with Memphis now that they have the roster space back open. It’s a small impact kind of move, but one that can’t happen unless you have an owner willing to pay an extra 400-500K just to acquire a 2nd round pick well off in the future.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that Patrick Williams rumor had some merit or that he at least got some consideration before ultimately deciding Okoro was locked in as their preference.

Guys with somewhat similar builds in the coming draft would include a Jonathan Kuminga(youngest player in the draft so I think he’ll add a little weight to his frame) and Jalen Johnson. I think it’s that kind of true SF or combo forward that will be their main focus in the 2021 draft

Windy is one the most respected insiders in the league. He is very connected to NBA people in the know. Windy is pretty much on the mark when he puts something out there. He is the Ina Rapport and Jay Glazer (prominent NFL insiders) of the NBA.

I like the way you think.

My only issue with that is they apparently never worked out Williams & the Cavs put a premium of individual workouts. Koby & company may have wanted the Bulls to think they would take Williams. The Bulls would then be less inclined to trade back and potentially keep a team from moving up to snag the Cavs’ guy, presumably Okoro.
