The following is an EXCELLENT breakdown of some of Baker's throws during the Jags game, as well as that huge miss to Higgins in the endzone. QC does a tremendous job here. I do think Baker is still a helluva accurate QB who gets almost no credit for his good plays, both within our fanbase and outside of it.
I love the fact that he tells his viewers that basic counting stats, like completion percentage, are worthless.
I agree with him completely that Baker is an accurate quarterback. Again, that's his strength. He is one of the most accurate QB's in the game.
He has thrown more inaccurate passes this year than in the past. Call it an accuracy issue. Call it a consistency issue. However you phrase it, that's the problem that I see that should be the next item that he and the coaching staff address. I believe it stems from his footwork, as his accurate throws here come from solid bases, or Baker rolling out. The inaccurate throws come from when he lacks that solid base inside the pocket.
When I say there's something obvious like this, that doesn't mean that Baker isn't good, or didn't have a "good" game, or that he can't be the QB of the future. It just means that this is a weakness. Hell, I have Aaron Rodgers as a top-10 QB all time, and he's had glaring weaknesses that he refused to change for years in Green Bay.
If there are fans out there yelling that Baker can't possibly be the QB of the future, and the Browns need to draft a QB in this year's draft, then they're idiots.
If there are fans out there saying Baker is for sure the franchise guy, flawless, and should never be criticized, they're not bright either.
