AFC Divisional Playoffs - Beat the Chiefs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Watkins was. Claypool trashed them. The line is extended to 10. And tons of media have Browns going down.

I also know Patrick Mahomes mom personally and she has been trashing Baker privately non-stop.

Stupid because I saw that Watkins is out for the game now. Man these people need to learn the proper ways to talk trash.

Just to add an outsiders perspective, I haven’t seen the Chiefs sleeping on or trash talking the Browns this week.

Reid on Hunt:
“I like Kareem — I’m glad things are going well for him,” said Reid. “He knows a lot of the guys that were on that [Super Bowl] team last year and really felt bad about not being a part of that. Listen, I get it. I get all that, but most of all, I’m happy for him that things are going in the right direction for him and he’s on a good football team, they’re well-coached. Listen, they won their first playoff game, and there’s something to be said about that.”

Reid on Mayfield:
“He’s matured on the field,” Reid said o Mayfield “I think he’s really fallen in love with this scheme it looks like and mastered it. He’s doing very well. That’s not an easy thing to do when you’ve been given a couple different things as a young quarterback, a couple different schemes to try to be the best that. That’s not easy to do for these quarterbacks. A lot of guys get lost in that and it looks like he’s really powered through it and done a nice job.”

Mahomes on Hunt:
“That’s my dude,” Mahomes said of Hunt. “I came in with Kareem and obviously we’re not together anymore but still stay in touch. He’s a heck of a football player and someone that was one of my best friends when we first got on the team together.”

“I actually texted him [Sunday] night,” Mahomes said. “He has a lot of success on that field every opportunity he gets. He’s a great football player and someone that I know who will keep getting better and better as his career goes on.”

“He’s a special football player,” Mahomes added of Hunt. “He works hard. He finishes every single play. He catches and runs. He can do it all. I’m happy for him that he’s back home in Cleveland and he’s able to go out there and play really good football.”

Mahomes on Mayfield:
“I visited Texas Tech, and [Mayfield] showed me around and everything like that,” Mahomes said. “I got to watch them play and everything... I got there right when he transferred to Oklahoma and so we never actually crossed paths that way, but a great dude. I still talk to him to this day. He’s a great dude, a great player and obviously a great leader on that team.”

Kelce on Hunt:
“I wish we spoke more often, man — that’s my brother for life,” said Kelce of his former teammate. “To see what he’s gone through — and to see him grow from everything? I’m somebody [who] had a few red flags coming out of college. It wasn’t always a whole lot of fun for me. I had to kind of breakthrough some things that were tied to my name.”

Chris Jones on if team is “bored”/looking ahead:
“No,” he said flatly. “You can’t worry about the games ahead or the games just behind. You’ve got to worry about the game in hand. You can’t get bored in this league. You get bored? That’s how you get your ass kicked!”

Also, I have an interesting take on the Watkins tweet, who isn’t even playing now. Given the time stamp, which I believe was less than 30 minutes into the game, I think he was saying “I wouldn’t say that” as in “this game is far from over.” He didn’t have media availablility all week because he never practiced, so we won’t get a chance for him to clarify. Either way I wouldn’t recommend trying to interpret Starship 14’s tweets... he’s not human :chuckle:

A bit off topic, but this man wasn't a good enough athlete to make it in the NFL, he played Canadian Football though. Look at him, crazy to think. Oh and he ran a 4.69 as a defensive end.
I think he hurt his neck at Miami which short circuited his football career.

He’s doing ok, though, IMO

I tend to agree with that take.

And it's not like he's doubled down on being an asshole like Claypool did.

further off topic: These were Brock Lesnars combine Numbers, and he still didn’t manage to stay in the League for more than a year.

Not to mention he had his spot taken by none other than Warren Sapp.

I just heard an interview with Sapp about it ...Sapp at one point was hanging with Derrick brooks who loved wrestling. He turned to the channel and Sapp was complaining the whole time. He saw the rock come out and his jaw dropped. He then told brooks they could watch wrestling whenever the rock was on... also said most of the rocks "candy ass" type stuff came from things ed orgeron(spelling?) Used to say in the locker room

I can feel a massive game for Myles coming up here. In the biggest games the elite players really shine and hopefully he can. Time for 95 to rival the league's best in the national consciousness at last. Interesting to note Garrett has inadvertently or accidentally dropped into a pass coverage position in the vicinity of two picks in the last two weeks. Get those big hands up Sunday.

Both Steelers QBs were intent on getting the ball out very quickly these past two weeks: firstly that's been their offense this year but also to specifically neutralize Garrett. Mahomes will presumably hold the ball much longer, drop much deeper and try to run for either sideline to extend plays, although I'm sure Andy Reid will try a wrinkle to address that tendency. I cannot see a scenario where the pass rush does not get to him at least a couple of times though. A strip sack is a real possibility.

On the other side of the ball red zone efficiency will be everything. It's an area where KC would appear to be vulnerable. In a lot games this year Cleveland has been deadly inside the opponents' 20. Field goals won't cut it.

There is certainly a path to an upset.
