Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just don't understand what race has to do with it? Players drafted higher are bigger investments for teams and thus get much greater opportunity to prove themselves than undrafted players, who really need to make the most of any opportunity they get. There's a lot of talent out there and only ~250 rotation spots in the NBA? Hard to find minutes for everyone.

Red herring. In reality the NBA is about performance. 99% of fans and media don’t give a rat‘s ass what country a player is from or race or anything like that. Certainly fans in China loved Yao Ming for example but Kobe was very popular there and nobody really cared about his race or nationality.

Whatever market there is for Drummond just shrank a bit with the news that the Rockets will be paying off and releasing Demarcus Cousins in the next few days. I'll guess he ends up either back in LA or in Brooklyn.

The Cavs have stated over and over that a buyout is not an option for them (of course things can change). They also wait until the season is over and complete a S&T with Dre!

Drummond has been with 2 of the worst teams in the NBA put him on a good team before you tear him down .with the Lakers Clipper Celtics.
YOU would see. how many players leave a bad team and overnite they are very good its not Drummond fault that he was on 2 bad teams.

If Drummond is not traded by trade deadline, he is gping to get a buyout... The Cavs would look like big jerks if they didn't after deciding to just make him sit while they try to trade him....

Are you a Dean Wade relative? Or perhaps belonged to the same fraternity? The lengths you go to to assume weird conspiracies about why the coaching staff and FO don’t play him is fascinating.

I won 3 back to back to back state championships and coached him for seven straight years. And set the states longest all time winning streak.

Congratulations for the accomplishments and of course its understandable that you feel the loyalty and belief in someone you know personally and coached at the High School level.

Regardless, you have a major bias(and understandably) that clouds/influences your opinion on his fit in the NBA right now. Obviously the Cavs org likes him enough to have him two years now and to develop him on the pro roster instead of G League.

If they thought he could help them win now by playing more in NBA games or felt that they needed to prioritize his personal development track for their long term gains, he would be getting more minutes.

If he disagrees with their assessment or the development and opportunity path they are providing him, then he can obviously leave the org this summer and find out what other NBA teams think about him, for better or worse.

No he can’t. He signed a 4 year contract. That his agents bad...... And yes I’m biased and I know what he can do if given a chance.

Fair enough. You know what he can do if given a chance at the high school and Collegiate level. He has been given minutes and probably will continue to receive some as the season goes on. Their are dozens of successful college players all over the NBA who are receiving even less of an opportunity and no doubt each and everyone of their former HS and AAU coaches believes they could succeed if given the chance.

His contract, if maintained by the Cavs gives him a chance to continue that development and experience in the NBA. If he’s truly meant to succeed in the NBA game, it will eventually happen, whether here or elsewhere. if not, he’s still a better basketball player than avast majority of the world just by virtue of having the ability to even earn a spot on an NBA roster.

Your best bet for conversation on what you know about his game and why you think he can do well is the Dean Wade thread. Not any other players thread or the game threads

Agreed on the thread. But I was responding to the questions I was asked on this thread.

i disagree, I am 100% certain Doncic would have been the number 1 pick he he was black. For most of us who watched him in Europe he was obviously the clear best player in that draft by a huge margin. Kings picked freaking Marvin Bagley over him, Hawks traded him for Trae Young lmfao. Would not have happened if he were black with the same skill set

I would love to see Dean Wade earn more minutes.

At the same time, we could easily say "The ultimate HS coach who thinks he knows what is going on at the NBA level" to you.

Hall of fame and got told by a fan! The ultimate lol!

You’re 100% certain you know that race was the only reason the Suns drafted Ayton over Doncic? How could you possibly know that?

Silly post.
