Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was watching guards go by Allen last night and looking at his statline and seeing he had a monster game. HE seems like a little slower than Drummond or maybe he just takes up less space?

It really sucks. Drummond was actually putting in DPOY performances regularly and just stopped once Allen was on board.

doesn’t that just say a lot about Drummonds character and why he should gtfo

Yeah it sucks, but I am also questioning how good Allen's D really is when OKC drops 117

Sexland hasn't been trying on defense, which is as much their immature bad attitude than anything than earlier in the year when they were more motivated. That is part of the problem.

The ultimate fans who haven’t coached a day in their lives but they’re good keyboard coaches.

Wasn't the guy who came up with the idea for GSW's death lineup just some video special assistant guy who had never coached?

Just because someone has coached doesn't make them right, and just because someone hasn't doesn't make them wrong.

Back to Drummond...no way Cavs are able to workout a trade. Salary is too prohibitive at this point and he’s not a good enough player for a team to dump anything of value.

Really, Drummond holds all the cards in the situation. He can elect to just sit at home and collect his $30 mill if he wants, and he doesn’t have to cut the Cavs any slack in terms of a buyout.

His salary is about to drastically drop whenever he signs his new contract. If I’m him, I’m inclined to workout at home, collect my checks from the Cavs, and get ready for FA.

He doesn’t seem to be a guy that simply has a passion to play basketball, and I’m not sure him getting bought out and going to a contender really helps his overall value that much.
If he follows the Dwight route, it's going to take a another 1 to 2 teams and an injury scare before the light bulb goes off and he decides to just play defense, board, and score off the garbage and lobs. And Dwight was a much better player then Drummond.

If I was his agent I would take the buyout, go to the Lakers and tell him to play the Dwight role (no competition unlike the Nets and Jordan), and parlay excelling l with Lebron in a limited role into an Adams like contract. Knowing Drummond he probably still thinks he more Embiid and will screw the rest of his career up though in the process

when you say Drummond is not as good as Dwight or Collin is not as good you have to look at the team they are on all your stars now playing have been on better teams than detroit or the cavs .when you play with good players you play better .

also why can the big markets trade players that our over the hill not counting super stars that have no cap room and find teams to trade

Probably because they don’t send their players home to sit on their ass and collect checks? If you do that to a player and said player isn’t a star, you basically kill their value and lose all your leverage in the process.

Also, most of those guys you’re thinking of weren’t making near the money Drummond is.

Plus, the FO should’ve known with the lack of interest in Drummond last year that it’d be damn near impossible to trade him.

If not for Allen falling into our lap, our FO would likely be resigning Drummond this off season. We’ll never know, but I’d be curious to know what they would have offered him.

See?? And people were thinking this season was a loss.

2 years 28M is much worse than deadline and what's left of 28M. It isn't the money now as much as the contracts to match. Being like, "This guy is too toxic to play" though, that is tanking his value. I wish a team could have taken away the, "Drummond really helps their defense". Even if he took too many shots, you might be able to convince a contending team he could play a role behind other stars, but his inability to curtail his shots after guys were back and just playing his game really messed it up

MY trade to Houston we get Oladipo and a first round pick both are on expiring contract he is always hurt C woods can play forward and if they are happy with Drummond they can resign him

Having Drummond sit out definitely is killing his value. If teams wanted him for a trial run or rental, they most likely are thinking why even risk it. The front office really doesn't seem to put in any forethought to some of this stuff. I get the trade to bring in Allen and wanting to maintain a good culture but being able to anticipation potential problems would probably go a long way to helping maintain that culture.
