Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i disagree, I am 100% certain Doncic would have been the number 1 pick he he was black. For most of us who watched him in Europe he was obviously the clear best player in that draft by a huge margin. Kings picked freaking Marvin Bagley over him, Hawks traded him for Trae Young lmfao. Would not have happened if he were black with the same skill set
well, and if Doncic played for Arizona. Don't underestimate Suns ownership from wanting the local bump.
The Trae Young trade was criminal to that fan base, even though they are convincing themselves Cam made it worth it. The difference between a franchise changer and a good player is like the difference between a G League star and an NBA starter.

You’re 100% certain you know that race was the only reason the Suns drafted Ayton over Doncic? How could you possibly know that?

Silly post.
I never said it’s the only reason, but I do recal almost every NBA “expert” chiming in with the same “he’s not athletic enough for the NBA” nonsense which you only ever hear about white prospects. You were claiming that 99% of NBA execs don’t care about the race of or where a player is from, which is nonsense. Luka was dominating the euro league which is a much better league then the NCAA and not only got picked 3rd but was traded! Obviously his race or which country he was from had something to do with that...

I’m far from an NBA expert but I almost spat out my beer when I saw Ayton and Bagley being picked before in my opinion probably the most obvious number 1 pick since Lebron James

While race is a bigger factor than anyone will usually admit, race was *not* a reason Luka dropped.

Luka Doncic was drafted THIRD (which is silly to think about being a "drop") in what was considered a loaded draft, because teams at #1 and #2 have historically bad leadership. The Suns had a chance to draft a guy that starred at a local college and was considered a generational prospect at his position. Luka was viewed as someone that would take the ball out of Bookers hands. The Kings didn't draft Luka because Vlade Dirac hated Lukas dad. That's it. That's the reason. Pettiness, not race. Marvin Bagley was viewed as a long elite big that had a skill set that resembled Kevin Garnett. It's not like they made a reach for someone. The Hawks drafted Luka for the Mavericks because Trae was being compared to Steph Curry (League MVP, at the time), in addition to getting *another* Lottery pick with him.

The NBA is a copycat league (most sports are). Luka "fell" to #3 because teams had been burned by top European guys. Saric and Hezonja had recently gotten insane hype as wunderkind hoopers before Luka and fizzled. Look whats happening since? Folks are looking for the next Luka. Hell, espn wrote an article recently about if Cade can be the next Luka. These things go in cycles. Think about the last time a euro was drafted and became elite. Dirk Notwitzki made more than a few players and agents a lot of money, and as many GMs and scouts got fired. Why? Because of copycats, not race (in this instance). Folks see success and want to replicate it. They see failures and want to avoid those mistakes.

Back to Drummond...no way Cavs are able to workout a trade. Salary is too prohibitive at this point and he’s not a good enough player for a team to dump anything of value.

Really, Drummond holds all the cards in the situation. He can elect to just sit at home and collect his $30 mill if he wants, and he doesn’t have to cut the Cavs any slack in terms of a buyout.

His salary is about to drastically drop whenever he signs his new contract. If I’m him, I’m inclined to workout at home, collect my checks from the Cavs, and get ready for FA.

He doesn’t seem to be a guy that simply has a passion to play basketball, and I’m not sure him getting bought out and going to a contender really helps his overall value that much.

He was infuriating at times. half his rebounds felt like they were off his own misses. he scored most of his points in the first half. He played selfishly in crunch time. He didn't do the little things like set decent screens.

But I can't help but feel this Cavs team was a little more legitimate with him on the floor.

Whatever. Cavs gonna Cav.

we were a little more legitimate with him on the floor, but what we were was our ceiling with him, and we also had such an easy early schedule.

Speaking of the schedule, last night they had a nice graphic showing the Cavs' last seven opponents have a combined record of 140-90 while the next six have a combined record of 79-91.

I'm going out on a limb and saying we win one of them.

My desire to have a choice between Mobley and Kuminga wouldn't mind losses in all 6...

Would Boston take him Andre for Nesmith and the Hayward TPE? (is that a legal trade?)

I don't think they will give up Nesmith and the best we could do is Romeo Langford. Also it couldn't be a straight up trade because the Hayward TPE is too small to take on Drummond. I think it would take alot of effort to get Drummond to go to Boston with multiple trades, I don't know if Boston will want to pay that price.

They said Haliburton wasn't athletic enough

I was watching guards go by Allen last night and looking at his statline and seeing he had a monster game. HE seems like a little slower than Drummond or maybe he just takes up less space?

It really sucks. Drummond was actually putting in DPOY performances regularly and just stopped once Allen was on board.

The big weakness in Allen’s game right now is lateral quickness (btw, I like nearly everything else about him). He’s is totally a fish out of water once he leaves the lane. Why JBB ever thought he could play the 4 with Drummond is beyond me.
