I really enjoyed the first episode of Falcon & the Winter Soldier. These shows really allow Marvel to flesh out the MCU's secondary characters in a way that just isn't possible in movies that have to focus more on the main guys. We basically knew nothing of either of these guys' lives outside of their hero personas prior to this series, so it's nice to get to see them as actual people rather than sidekicks.

The opening action scene is one of the more impressive set pieces I've seen in a TV show. I do wish they'd have dropped two episodes to start, though, because this one ends right when it's getting really interesting.

This feels like it's pretty much just going to be a really long Marvel movie, and I'm fine with that.
Yeah, that first 10 minute action sequence was incredible. That’s how you set the tone for a series. It’s going to be fascinating watching how both characters develop throughout the series, especially Bucky. Without spoiling anything, when you think about it, now that Cap is no longer around, Barnes has lost more then Wanda has. He’s 106 years old so all the friends/family before he became the Winter Soldier are all gone, but in addition, he’s gonna have to deal with the fallout for all the cold-blooded murdering of innocent people he committed during his brainwashed days, which we have already seen in this first episode. Something tells me that Sam is going to play a big role in Bucky’s redemption.

It’s also cool to see the real world financial problems that Sam faces despite being a well known Superhero that served his country in his previous life. I don’t expect every episode to be as long as this 47 minute opener was, but if the balance between action and exposition is maintained as it was in this episode, this series will fly right by.

Now it’s time for the fun part. We already saw how wrong all the theories were in WandaVision. There were no big character surprises that we saw rumored all over the internet. But having already had a surprise guest appearance by an Avenger in episode 1, is there any chance we see one by old man Rogers in this series?

I think that Rodgers will definitely be back, although whether that's in old man form, via the multiverse, or both remains to be seen. I wouldn't be shocked if he showed up in this series, though.

Marvel recently clarified that Rodgers lived his life with Peggy in an alternate timeline, and only zipped back to the meeting point in our timeline after she'd died to give Sam the shield. So presumably he's stuck back in our timeline because I think those things only had a charge to get there and one to get back, right? Where he is is anyone's guess, but no one would recognize him that didn't already know what he looked like old, and that's just a couple of people.

Black Widow now releasing in theaters and Disney+ Premier Access(aka, $30 rental fee)

I'm so glad all these streaming services and separate charges have ushered back in a second golden age of piracy.

In my opinion, being that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is more or less an extended movie, I wonder if it would be a more enjoyable watch as a binge over the course of a day or two.

It of course would make little sense for Disney to release its episodes all at once, but I thought Wandavision's "unknowingness" played much better to the weekly episode drops and the nature of that show lead to lots of hype, buzz, speculation, theories, etc. on the internet.

I'm enjoying it fine but not seeing it being talked about in near the same way Wandavision was talked about. Although to be fair, I think a lot of people were skeptical of Wandavision after the first 2 episodes. However, Wandavision was also going to be a 9 episode season vs. 6 for F&WS. Maybe Zemo's emergence helps spark some more excitement.

I watched episodes 1 and 2 last night and was thinking the same thing. It's probably better to binge. It's something where you want to keep going, but coming back to it weekly seems a bit more of a chore.

Finally watched the first two episodes.

Liked it.

Hilarious is US Agent's stupid arrogance.

Is dude really trying to give those two a pep-talk about not giving in to bad guys? Really?

He does realize they did go toe-to-toe with the only guy in the universe with a bigger chin than him, right?

US Agent is Homelander.

Awful. Hate him.

Re-watching Civil War tonight. Like, it's totally reasonable to blame the Avengers for Sokovia, because Tony literally caused that himself, but when the Avengers are getting dressed down by Ross for what happened in the first Avengers, I'm just thinking...you do remember that the military's plan during the alien invasion was to nuke the fucking city, right?

This is the one 'flaw' with Disney+, releasing these shows weekly instead of all at once.

Think the weekly format worked great for Wandavision and Mandalorian but isn't quite working for The Falcon & The Winter Solider from a purely "viewing perspective".

It makes little sense for them to release all the episodes at once when all the hype and discussion would last 48 hours max.
