Game Thread | 2020-21 Season | Game #58 | Bulls @ Cavs | April 21, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
DG feeling it from 3 tonight.

Garland seems to be the first option in our offense which is the way it should be, since he doesn't have tunnel vision. His improvement is clear, but I expect more next year. I'm excited to see him play against some better teams soon.

Amazing how they just up and remember how to play basketball.

Maybe Bickerstaff is the common denominator of stink?

Wait - Dotson’s on the BULLS now? If that dude blows up into a STAR, on the Bulls, I am going to be BITTER.

Buckner has been working with or coaching with Bickerstaff for 8 years. They are locked at the hip.

A far more likely explanation is that young teams are almost always inconsistent teams. And that the Cavs players wanted to make up for how bad they played against Chicago last week.

If you want to create a narrative of JB being an all time horrible horrible coach, have at it. The team has increased their winning % two years in a row now. I am not claiming JB is a plus coach or a good coach, I don’t know that. I know that he is coaching an extremely young team that has also had a higher number of injuries than most.

Why can't people just be happy that both players played well....

Couldn't agree more. There's no reason to pick one to root for at the other's expense. They're both much improved this year, both very young, and not remotely the reason for our lousy record.

Not hating. Sexton is still the better player right now and although he has been the focal point of our offense for 2 years it's nice to see Garland take over more because I think that makes us better, in my opinion. You're the ones turning what I said into a negative.

Lol. The tunnel vision comment was an obvious dig.

That's more like it. The Cavs needed a game like this after gakking up a hairball against the Pistons and having their own coach publicly saying they need to "grow up".

The Cavs won the first and third quarters by 22 and 10 points, respectively. That's what we need to see more of - the Cavs starting each half focused and aggressive.

The defense was excellent as they took Vucevic completely out of the game. He finished with 9 points. Four of their five starters failed to reach double figures. The Cavs' bench chipped in 35 points - not bad when you have high volume scorers like Sexton and Garland starting.

Allen looked much more aggessive and engaged than the last few games. He and Garland were killing it off those lobs on the pick-and-roll.

Sexton had a terrific game with 30 points and 7 assists. Garland was 25 points and 4 assists.

The Cavs were up by 27 points after three quarters. The Bulls hit a lot of shots in garbage time to make the final score more respectable.

I wish we had Lauri Markkanen. He's a 23-year-old seven-footer who knocks down 3's effortlessly and there's no way to stop him. He had 16 points in 21 minutes tonight and was 4-for-5 on 3's. I'm surprised he's not starting. It's his fourth year on the Bulls - they must know something.

This is how the Cavs should play; 27 assists and 10 turnovers. They came out with intensity to start both halves, which has been one of their biggest problems. Now they need to start like that every night.
