Ex Indians update

“Getting booed sucks, man. It’s not fun. It’s a lonely feeling, especially when it’s your home crowd."

Poor Frankie.

Wild pitch by Adam Pluto allows go ahead run for Twins in 10th inning. Orioles on way to 14th consecutive loss.

I had to chuckle when some folks, including a few beat writers, hinted that perhaps Plutko was a big loss and shouldn't have been let go...because he has a handful of nice outings in the Os pen.

Plutko is Plutko...always has been. His numbers have remained remarkably consistent over many years.

Plutkos 2020 ERA was 4.88 with a 5.32 FIP.

His career ERA is 4.99 with a 5.59 FIP.

This year? 4.61 and 6.04.

With our injury luck, Plutko would have been a nice inning eater for us, but honestly that's all he is and a well liked clubhouse guy. He's a legit AAAA swingman pitcher who is that 26th man willing to do the dirty innings of ball games... Every team has some in a sense, but we so much young talent and a guy like Morgan in the wings who is younger, with options and the same floor profile, why keep one who is out of options?

Abraham Almonte was hitting over .400 for Gwinnett and got called up by the Braves. Who saw that one coming ?

He's always been a streaky hitter and he's still around. He legitimately lost his shot in Cleveland when he got caught using a PED...

Ahem... That Gwinnett lineup had a middle of the order with Jason Kipnis hitting cleanup (& hitting very well), Lucroy in the 5 spot & Abe Almonte hitting 6th..
