My thoughts:

1) Few teams can stomach giving up a mid-first easier than Boston. Their entire roster is mid-firsts they are still waiting on to contribute...
2) Moses Brown is valuable considering he has an outside chance of being good and has several cheap non-guaranteed years.
3) This deal is much more fair than the knee-jerk fan reaction will make it out to be

It makes sense for Boston. They're avoiding the tax.

OKC is hoping they can revive Kemba's value and trade him at a later date for more. They got a mid 1st rounder to do it, too.

Not sure if a trade with the Cavs and Love would have made sense for Boston. Love makes a little more than Horford so not sure how that translates into tax savings.

Real problem is the Cavs would have had very little chance at reviving Kemba's value here. The position is full up of young players.

Man Tillman screwed Philly so hard. If he didn't have a stick so far up his ass, Harden/Embiid would be running over the east

Presti is going to flip Kemba for more assets at the trade deadline or next off-season. Presti has been a monster of finding trade that get him draft picks and players that can keep returning value.

I think Love could be moved though in a similar deal. There will be desperate teams trying to upgrade this offseason. Wizards and Portland I think are destinations for Love.

OKC is positioning themselves to make a major splash pretty soon. Not a ton on the books & a shit ton of 1sts. Theyre in a great spot.

I expect Barrett to follow a similar career trajectory as Evan Turner.
RJ needs to choose better with shot selections and stop trying to be a finished product before he is one.
He really is a PF with playmaking ability more than anything right now. But he is not playing that role.
I would gladly take him over Garland still in a redraft.

Zion predictions:

ROTY
All-Star in 1st season
Face of NBA when Bron retires (Though I can see Bron playing until 40)
Ends up in NY after his rookie contract ala Shaq to LAL.
Welp. Luka is soon to be the Face , Ja won ROTY,yep 2 years after his Rookie season he was an all star lol and of course David Griffin is never trading him based on Zions so called family members forcing SVG out.

So I've seen this repeated but this isn't what I remember reading.

I remember reading that Morey put Simmons on the table. I remember this because I was saying at the time that if the ROckets don't take the deal, then Morey has to explain to his young star why he's trying to trade him and how Morey has a knack for pissing off players because he views them all as commodities.

Houston just took a different deal.
