Guardians wasn't my preferred name but it was on the short list. After last night it was all but confirmed. Glad it's finally decided.

Don't hate the wordmarks but I am not a fan of that monogram. The way it bends inwards feels cartoony. Somehow they managed to downgrade from the Block C (just my opinion).

The baseball winged G logo is odd, but at least it's fun and they're trying something. Hopefully they update in a few years drawing more from the wealth of cool art deco imagery the bridges provide.

Could be worse!
 
I like the Guardians name, I just don't like that they kept so much of the Indians current and past branding. I thought it was an opportunity to totally switch the style and color scheme, but they kind of just re-hashed some old stuff. IMO the 'G' logo would be significantly better without the baseball and the G straightened out. It's looks a bit minor league to me to be honest.
 


LOVE the wing logo. Not only incorporates the statue, but might potentially be paying homage to Major League? The 3-dimensional aspect is masterful as well.

The typography is very good too. Best possible outcome if we were to keep the colors/look the same.
 
Underrated aspect of the new C is the white outline. That alone gives it so much more pop on a blue hat.

Just give me back my piping on the blue jerseys.
 
I went to bed with rumors,
Woke up and it was done.

I have no real issue with the new name. It is what it is. If we win it will become the greatest name in the history of names.

But the logo and uniform makes me want to puke.
If we're changing the name let's have a little fun with it. Art Deco fonts. Giant Guardians at the gates, and after home runs.

All the Guardians script does is remind me that we used to be the Indians.

I agree it looks minor league, and for me, that’s the best part!

Truthfully, minor league logos are so much more fun.

just simply reusing the color scheme and jerseys is the mistake here. That makes it feel like a “tag on”.

go full rebrand, and start a new history. Don’t throw a new name on the same jersey…that’s weird

Oh... glad to be wrong about that. And Holy Crap! I guess that's why I got along with the drummer when I randomly met him a number of years ago out here at Oldfield's Liquor Room.

I didn't know who he was. He was just trying to get drinks for folks. I was in the corner... drinking, as I do.
 
So what’s the shortened nickname ?

Like I always kinda just liked calling them Tribe instead of Indians cuz it was just easier to say. Or Cavs instead of Cavaliers.

Guardians is kinda a lot and Guards makes no sense.

Maybe then Gs?

Should have stolen the Mud Hens or went with something similar.

It's the laziest rebranding ever. Even the font is essentially the same.
