Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Browns clinching a playoff berth against the Steelers last year has to be on that list I think.

It was against backups and we were expected to win. Great game but I think the other ones were more memorable. Winning that playoff game takes a little luster off of that regular season win too.

Yep.

I'm not putting a loss on that list.

The Indians 22-game streak has to be up there. Specifically win 21 or 22 where Frankie hit the double off the left field wall in the bottom of the ninth to keep the streak alive.

I enjoyed the Titans beatdown last year more than this game.

The bengals game last year was pretty nice. Looks like a turning point for the guys.

For the cavs, Kyrie against Portland comes to my mind since that one was at home and Fred's calling it.

Agreed, I think that is kinda where my mind is at as well.

But if we had to put a loss on there I would even go as far as to say last year's MNF game vs the Ravens was more entertaining at least. The loss stung, but our team proved it could hang with the big boys on a national stage in arguably the most fun game of the regular season.

I still think KC is the only team in the AFC better than us. None of the other teams are better. KC is the only team that could've won that game against us in the AFC. I can't see PIT, BUF, BAL, or anybody else pulling that one out like KC did.

We're in good shape.

The Steelers fans at work are giving me some good natured ribbing as you'd expect. I told them I wouldn't discount their win against Buffalo, they are a good team. But I also said I don't think they will do any better against Kansas City than we did.

Denzel Ward played great.

JJ3 played great aside from the fluky Hill bomb.

Ward was getting dusted by Hill all over the field. He did not play great. He had a couple really good PBU’s and one that should have been PI…

Other than that, he was schemed 10-15 yards off hill and we gave up 196 yards to him.

No corner in the history of football can consistently cover Tyreek Hill in man coverage.

If you're expecting Ward to do that, your expectations are out of line.

Hill had multiple games w/ 60 or fewer yards last year.

Ward (and our entire secondary) gave up just about 200 to him. Proclaiming any single player in that unit played "great" is just trying to feel good about something. They were bad.

Not at all. You're going to have to show Ward screwing up to support him being bad.

We played lots of zone yesterday. When we played man, there were lots of times where Ward was on Kelce--he wasn't always on Hill.

Yet you don't acknowledge any of this. You go to a box score and are wielding it to support an argument that can't be made on a box score alone.

I saw Ward play good coverage yesterday, and be very aggressive coming up in run support and tackling in the open field. He squared Tyreek up and delivered a huge hit against him on the right sideline--that's a nice improvement to my eyes over the weak-tackler we saw early in his career, and continues the trend he was showing last year.

The personal/emotional shit can be left at home. You can say that someone making my argument is "just trying to feel good" and I can say that someone making your argument is "just trying to be cathartic after a loss." Both statements are shitty.

My god.

The only thing you need to see is 196 yards given up to one guy, who our #1 corner was in coverage on for half the night.

I watched the entire game, Ward was responsible for Hill A LOT, he was in cushiony ass zone coverage. Not one player in our secondary played "great".

I could bring up how awful your argument is because you continue to use a box score to try and talk about an individual's performance. I could bring up specifics, like the 75-yard TD that shows up in the box score but has absolutely fuck-all to do with Denzel Ward because JJ3 was in coverage on that play. But, I don't really need to say anything because you give us this gem:

Ward was responsible for Hill A LOT, he was in cushiony ass zone coverage.

Yeah... we're done here.

If it wasn’t man, no one is responsible for anything more than an area.

And if you don’t know who was responsible for the area, you can’t blame any individual person.
