Whatever it is Isaac O-nonymous fits the bill. Honestly feel bad for him - seems like a good kid and I've stated numerous times I don't think he should be counted out just yet but man has anyone become a star without some flashes out there?
lol thats what you take away from him not initiating offense on the preseason with better playmakers like Rubio on the floor or better offensive newcomers gifted usage? He is fine and was never going to be more than a 3rd option scorer in his prime that he is nowhere near yet. The kid plays with relentless energy trying to do what this coaching staff needs him to do as bad as it makes him look he keeps doing it anyway. This is not a 30 minute a night rotation player.
This is an end of the bench journeyman level player.
I know its early in his career, but as of right now, he can't shoot and has no handles. He's no where near being ready to be a starting shooting guard. With said I don't trust JBB to develop these young Players.I don't even know what to think about this guy. I don't get how no one has forced him to work on his weaknesses. I don't get what he's been working on...maybe just lifting?
Then again, maybe it's just too early to make any judgements. I think the side effect of getting a player like Mobley is it majorly highlights the talent gaps of some of other players.
Okoro is not a guard but he can defend them lol he is a forward with out of the gym hops a better than average ball iq ( even though it does not look like it on this crap preseason ensemble cast) and it seems apparent to me all the hate towards him is more about the problem with Altman thinking the rebuild would take longer. Okoro needs at least a full 2nd season before he should be treated like a bust because he isn't that yet.I know its early in his career, but as of right now, he can't shoot and has no handles. Ugh, what really sucks is that they passed on a guy like Halliburton because we already had Garland and Sexton, yet drafted a guy whom as it turns out is best suited to replace half of SexLand, not complement it. Nothing against Okoro, just really bummed with our FO on this one.Fedor stated on multiple occasions in his piece this morning that some in the Cavs organization see Okoro long-term as a 2 and not a 3. As someone who is perceived as a mouthpiece for the Cavs, I love to hear it. I think Okoro is miscast as a 3 and is only being played there because the Cavs have done an awful job at actually obtaining NBA quality wings.
Cleveland Cavaliers’ roster breakdown: Assessing each player and their role
New players. New roles. New starting lineup. New offensive philosophy -- fast, free and fun. New attitude. Heightened expectations.t.co

A lot of people on RCF should pat themselves on the back. The folk who frequent Twitter attacked anybody who mentioned this through Okoro's rookie year, but it's true. He needs to get a consistent shot from the outside, but his future has always been at guard.
The thing is, I dont think the reason to put Sexton on the bench has as much to do with Okoro, its just a better position for Sexton. Sexton has 6th man of the year type skills, but really isnt a good starting SG.
As for Okoro, he really isnt a SF, but needs to develop a shot to be a good SG. Okoro is starting his 2nd year and that could happen, but we really need a SF and while Lauri is by far the best player we have that we are thinking to put there, he is not a SF either.
It will be interesting to see how this develops.

ETA: let this be a lesson moving forward: if you're gonna pass on the BPA because of positional need, then you better be fucking sure that the non-BPA dude you end up taking can adequately fill that positional need.
To be clear, I don't hate our FO. I just really hate how that 2020 draft went down. I'm rooting super hard for Isaac to prove me wrong though!
Can't disagree with either point. Bottom line is that if a front office believes in drafting BPA for four straight years, at some point you have to pull the trigger on trades to create roster balance. I feel like the Cavs are the G-League franchise for the actual NBA, which is comprised of about ten teams. A roster that makes some sense on the floor together will change it.
