Both of these are my goals for this evening as well. Good call @J_J

Jalen Suggs had one of the best all-around summer league games in his debut over GSW and I want to see Okoro impact the game the way Suggs did a few days ago. I expect to see the two #5 picks matched up, and I want to see more aggression on both sides from IO as well as more decisiveness/assertiveness in playmaking in the two man game as you mentioned.

I also expect Mobley to be matched up with Wagner. Who out of the box at Ann Arbor has better mobility and defensive tools than Sengun, but I want to see more decisiveness and assertiveness from Mobley as well.
Thanks @RchfldCavRaised.
I hated the first early quarter where majority was Okoro standing in the corner.
Then it picked up where we got Okoro 2 man game and Kaben and Mobley. Of course the back door cut and Mobley finding him twice with one poster was great. Loved the drives he made with 2 man game and areas where he found space and drove to the basket strong.

But my play of the game for Okoro offensively was he had the 2 man game and beat his man to the hoop. Help immediately came and he found Matt Ryan at the corner 3 and splashed.

I personally would rather have Okoro and Mobley get more PT together this summer league to have these more opportunities.

Mobley did sound like he was still in puberty when he was mic'd up last night :chuckle:

His handle is definitely better, he would never have split that double team and finished like that last year. I’m still waiting to see on the jumper but it appears to have a bit more lift. I think in the flow of a season and after training camp, we will see him shine a bit more.

All of the guys out there seem pretty stiff and it was weird he was being iced out of the offense early on, but he asserted himself later which I’m fine with. I would love to see him get another game in SL but it’s obvious he is better than the talent there so I get why they will shut him down.

It was apparent when he wanted to score at the rim, he could get to his spot almost a will, and that improvement alone will help his offense next year.

Okoro looks about 6-6 in shoes now???? I grew until my early 20's as well. Went from 5'11 to 6'1.
Cheater. I was 5’11 in 7th grade and 5’11 and 1/8th on graduation day. My dad had warned me he was the same, but I thought I’d buck familial trends. No dice. I’d like the hair over 5’11 back now. I’ve certainly shrunk a bit.

Brodric Thomas specifically and a bunch of guys trying to make a team in general can do that to a guy.

I was specifically going to mention Brodric. He was awful, like I cringed almost every time he touched the ball. He is the reason i dont like summer ball, its just bad basketball.

On topic though, I like what I saw from Okoro, getting better and stronger a little every day. He looked a bit more athletic to me, might be the strength and seemed more aggressive. Its just summer, but would love to see the offensive aggression spill over to the regular season.

I thought he was much bigger than last year, and seemed physically imposing. With this teams construction, we don’t need him being kyrie getting by people. Strong finishing(which has been great in the SL btw), straight line drives(which he seems comfortable with now), tertiary playmaking between him/sexton and league avg three point shooting(very possible) has the makings of a 10 year starter and potential fringe all star.

What more can you ask if a 3rd-4th option and the 5th pick in a bad draft?
