He gave himself a nickname? You can't do that.

Nick Young is one of the biggest douches in sports over the last 10 years.

He didnt just give himself a nickname, it was an awful douchey nickname at that. It stands for The Prophet of Swag.....LMAFAO

Iggy is his extreme ceiling though. Plus hopefully Okoro never dates Swaggy P like Iggy did.
“Extreme ceiling.”

What Was Jimmy Butler’s “Extreme ceiling” after his rookie year?

Silly concept. Athletes can and do outperform expectation, including limits supposed experts put on them. Chris Spielman was too small to play linebacker in college. Ok.

Iggy has a 6'9 wingspan where I think Okoro is somewhere around 6'6. That's a huge difference. Guys like Marcus Smart who are also good at defending larger players also have larger wingspans. Okoro seems to have good fundamental timing but he needs to get even stronger if he's not going to have the lanky arms to dislodge the ball and stuff. Like Jrue Holiday. I think if we draft a big wing who can shoot, it doesn't matter what position these guys play on offense... I'm a little jealous of the Raptors core size...

By my math, and I could be wrong here, that is a 3 inch difference. :chuckle:

Jimmy Butler's extreme ceiling was a taller Jamie Fox look alike.

Mission accomplished, well done Mr Butler.

We know 3 inches can make a big difference in a lot of places Lee... Imagine if Sexton was 3 inches taller... We wouldn't even be considering a trade. Game of inches.

I was fine with Okoro's defense on Green and Christopher, I was PISSED at his willingness and the coaches tolerance of him deferring to Broderic Thomas and Stephens on offense. Both guys had 2 possessions in the first quarter where they brought the ball up and Okoro started in the corner like he did for the first 3/4 of last season. THAT was bullshit.

The two possessions where he scored early were possessions where he went coast to coast and got his left shoulder by defenders on his way to bully ball from the right block. THAT, I loved.

He seemed untrusting of his handle more than he trusted it and I get that a primary focus of his this summer is catch and shoot 3's, but I really believe his ball handling needs to be as much if not more of a focus as the shooting. Getting him downhill so he can get his shoulders past guys and learn to do what Green did to him and what Collin Sexton/Trae Young are learning to master in that "hostage dribble" where you get your defender on your hip and have them at your mercy as you pass/shoot/drive from midrange would be ideal even more than perfecting his spot up 3.

If I had to give him a offensive grade, I'd say C- last night as he probably showed the assertiveness and initiative to take/create maybe 40% of possible possessions where he could have. When he did, good things happened very often. My favorite play of his was not even a scoring play, but it was him pushing the ball up the left fort court and signaling to Mobley to slip the screen he was about to set. Mobley slipped it and Okoro hit him in stride to get downhill before Houston's defense could get set for Mobleys first bucket. If he played with that initiative/assertiveness 70% of his possessions, I would have been happier with his game last night.

We don't need to shortchange him. He has a 6'8" wingspan. So yeah he gives up a half inch on each arm.
Actually, Iggy has a 6'11" wingspan.

I must have found some outdated wingspans but I just googled it. Also, we're not blind and can see how big of a difference it makes on the court. Even when Iggy was younger. He was at nearly 2 steals a game and 6 boards in his rookie season. Plus a huge difference in defensive rating between their first seasons.

Me on the Cavs summer league sideline the next time Okoro lets Stevens or Thomas bring the ball up as he's standing in the corner

Okoro's wingspan is 6'8".. like other known T-Rex wings in the NBA such as Devin Booker, Jimmy Butler & Zach LaVine.

Heck if I had an extra 3 inches, my ex wife might still be my current wife.
Speaking of ceilings and floors … NBA HoF center Bob Lanier had size 22 shoes. Given that datum, what’s his floor on length? Extreme ceiling?
