If you couldn’t use 7, would it be a 6 or an 8?
Probably an 8 with no rewatchability. Like it's gonna be important for whatever overarching story they want to do this time. Angelina Joiie is fantastic in it and the fight scenes are some of my favorites. With that said, it can be convoluted at times, they tried to introduce too many characters at once, and I have no interest in seeing it again.

Definitely worth the watch if you want a date night flim or are invested in the universe. It honestly reminded me of some of the x-men films.

Just finished Shang-Chi.

Does every fucking one of these movies have to become a giant, mindless CGI fight at the end? This was on its way to being an awesome martial arts movie, but then the end was just so bleh. Just throwing shit at the screen to see what sticks. Just give me a personal, violent fight between Shang-Chi and his dad as the climax and you've got a fantastic movie.

The best part of the film was the fight on the bus at the beginning. Give me more of that shit. Just fun, creative martial arts set-pieces.

Also loved that they brought Ben Kingsley back, and he absolutely crushed it. I didn't read any spoilers so him showing up was a pleasant surprise.

This is why Dr. Strange is one of my favorite MCU films.

There is no real end-fight.

It's Strange winning a psychological battle of wills.

I was going to watch it Wednesday after the game, but narcolepsy said nope. At this point, I was just waiting until today for it to be on Disney+ so I could watch it in 4k.

Well, this movie definitely needed an end fight, just not that end fight. All of the good martial arts fights are in the first half of the movie.

Marvel announced 12 new series as part of "Disney+ Day", some of the highlights are a return of the X-Men 97 animated series, the 2nd season of What if?, and Secret Invasion sounds interesting.

Its amazing how much content they are pumping out & how intertwined it all is.

Shang Chi was fantastic. Really no other way to do the end battle IMO.

Eternals, also fantastic, I think a lot of the hate is because of the inclusivity written into the story. I like the the bigger picture that its opening up. Something beyond the Avengers.

'97 X-Men with Larry Houston directing it all. Sign me up, inject that shit straight into my veins.

If you aren't familiar with Larry Houston, well, if you watched an animated action show anytime in the 90s, he was probably a part of it.

This, Spiderman, Batman & TMNT were on repeat in my house.

All of them are on my Plex server. Looking at his IMDB, I realize I have most of his catalog of work without realizing he did anything on it lol.
He also worked on GI Joe. That dude could really sell some toys to impressionable youth.

My guess is they had to do it for the dark dimension and Dr Strange tie in. I'd typically agree with you, though. That was a fucking awesome Kung Fu movie. The end battle aside, I thought the movie was one of my favorite MCU movies.

I saw Eternals on Friday night and I can't really put my finger on why, but it just didn't click with me. I thought that the characters were a little wooden and lacked personality, but maybe it's because they're supposed to be stoic gods. The humor fell flat for me as well. Some of my lukewarm feelings could be that we're starting to get into more "niche" Marvel characters that I'm less familiar with.

It does seem like it will be a key stepping stone movie as we transition into the next MCU phase though and I think the overall story of this next phase will still be very interesting.

I am SO hyped for the more paranormal side of the MCU that seems to be upcoming. Kit Harrington as the Black Knight with the Ebony Blade. Mahershala Ali as Blade. Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight. Kathryn Haan as Agatha Harkness. Jared Leto as Morbius.

A lot of awesome story telling potential that would be unique within the MCU. I think they also present an opportunity to tell a smaller scale story with more of a focus on the characters. Not everything has to be a world ending threat.
