Now Garland will most likely struggle without legit spacing or roll target. I hope he doesn't and takes on the challenge.

I don't care how it happened. It's been two years that we have been ravaged by injuries. His substitution patterns are nonsensical. He plays players fir 16 minutes straight.

Evan is a competitor and he will give his all every damn second. You play him for long durations and you task him at guarding Kanter and Horford who are bigger and stronger than him? Not yo mention that they are both are prone to some dirty shenanigans. He was not ready to play the 5 for a full game. I don't care if JBB is fighting for his coaching career or if he wants to reach the playoffs at all costs... I font care and neither should the franchise care. What they should care about is Evans health and putting him in the best position to succeed and progress. This ain't it.
Cool.

None of that has anything to do with the injury Mobley sustained last night.

None of it has anything to do with two players getting Covid

None of it has anything to do with Allen getting an illness to miss two games.

Even Sexton, who plays with insane torque, was playing 7 LESS minutes per game (28.7) than he did last season.

And none of what I'm saying is defending JBB in totality.

And anyone who thinks this is because of Mobley's 35 mins a game is insane. You went up for a rebound and sprained it. Could of happen in 1 minute or 40 minutes. Cant put the kid in bubble wrap although we want to. Injuries happen, it sucks.

Well, that makes the cavs less fun to watch, frees up the rest of my November.

If you go through the schedule for the next few weeks, it was going to be very very brutal anyways. While you dont want your Rookie not learning from playing the highest competition, from a team aspect, those games were going to very hard to win anyways. The impact on our W/L record will likely be minimal as long as we can keep it closer to 2 than 4 weeks.
We were going to run through Brooklyn and Golden State like they were AAU teams. I now have an excuse and I’m sticking to that story.

At least this team has defense to fall back on, which might be enough to win them a few games.

The Rockets do literally nothing well.
This team has the defense of Evan Mobley to fall back on, a month from now. Without him, our defense is trash, as evidence by the 4th quarter last night.

To be fair, that happened because for some reason JBB thought playing Wade at center was a good idea. It turned into a layup line and largely cost us the win.

The net effect is it probably saves us from ourselves. We were going to hang in there with the kid playing like he was, but ultimately lose a lot of close ones. Our coach was going to try to win, and ultimately play him 40 minutes a night every other game.

I look at this like staving off his eventual rookie wall, in a period we were likely to lose a lot anyway, and I’m thankful it’s an upper body problem. Not lower or back.

I hate to say this but there may be a bit of a silver lining here, our wing situation is atrocious and some of these losses will help our pick. Kinda just wanted to make the play in due to how bad our wings are. We finally have our franchise player, now we have to surround him with talent.

Good opportunity for Garland and Okoro to step up. Garland to prove that he is capable of being assertive without his 7 footer(s), Okoro to prove that he's capable of anything offensively.
