One website has the Cavs playing the toughest schedule in the league so far. I think that was teamrankings.com. The other has them playing the third toughest so far and the easiest the rest of the way.

Considering they're 24-18 against one of the three toughest schedules, they're over the COVID (everybody had it already), and they're done with all their west coast games, their winning percentage should increase substantially.
Done with west coast in mid Jan is huge imo

I agree, although you have to factor in the loss of Rubio and his impact in some of those wins.

Another thing to consider playing the weaker teams in the second halves of the season has another added bonus, a lot of those teams will be playing for player development over wins, Veteran players would have checkout, and teams will be playing for ping pongs

Pluto had this:

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff said he challenged Garland and his team’s other guards to help on the boards. Utah loves the 3-point shot, takes 40 a game – second most in the NBA. When the Jazz miss, that creates long rebounds. Earlier in the trip, Golden State hurt that Cavs by grabbing those long rebounds and loose balls. That irritated Bickerstaff. He warned against a repeat in Salt Lake.

5. So Garland ran down 10 rebounds. Fellow guard Lamar Stevens had seven boards. The Cavs owned the boards, 50-32.

One good thing that came out of the loss to the Warriors was the wake-up call those 22 offensive rebounds put on the Cavs. With our tall front line I feel our guards think there's no need for them to help out on the defensive glass, but they really need to, especially against teams that jack up a lot of 3's.

The Warriors opened the door with an unusually bad shooting night from deep, but the Cavs were unable to prevent them from getting 22 extra possessions after missed shots. Lots of shots banged off the rim and it seemed the W's came up with every long rebound while Looney grabbed most of the short ones.

I'm hoping the Cavs continue to stress giving the bigs some help on the defensive glass. I think preventing second chance scoring opportunities is more important than having guards leaking out for two-man fast breaks.

A bit off topic, but heading into the season I thought this might be Austin Carr's last and they are grooming Daugherty to take over. I know this isnt an original thought, many on here have said the same and see it too.

But I think he is having a ton of fun watching this team first hand and might put off retirement for a few years. When we talk about an organization from top to bottom, the media matters. Not the shit takes of the Cleveland media, but the 3 and sometimes 4 headed monster that is the team's media.

What the hell man. Couldn't we have outbid the Knicks for Cam Reddish at this price? Kevin Knox and a protected first round pick?

Knicks pick is most likely going to be better than the Cavs pick. Timing of when a GM pulls the trigger on this type of deal is probably key. For the Cavs they might of had to roll the dice earlier than this to get max value out of our pick. I think we are past the point where other GM think this team is a flash in the pan.

Knicks just remain incompetent.

He does nothing to fix their team issues. They're blowing assets and cap space on non-difference makers when they lack a single bona-fide star.

Awful team building after a good season.

The playoffs against a completely inexperienced Hawks team should have told them how far away they were and instead of taking a step back and being patient they just blow it all.

Now this.

Bad bad bad.

Reddish was picked 10th.

3 years later and no one would pick him 10th now.

So I'm very confused how people think a top 18 pick is some kind of steal when he's got a season and a half before he's a restricted free agent.

Someone please explain to me how they view this favorably for the Knicks.

A little unclear from the article but I believe it’s the Hornets pick, not Knicks. We could easily have been competitive with that.

Reddish is not yet what you would call a good player but he’s showing flashes…entirely possible that Koby has a better move in mind or reason to stand lag. It’s a crazy feeling, trusting your GM lol

Right, I seem to remember seeing something on this forum about it. I think it was maybe last April?

Definitely agree with that statement. Of course, AC may have a number of different reasons for retiring, whenever he is ready to cross that bridge. But it would be a little easier to hang them up if you knew the next couple of years of games were going to feature, say, Dion Waiters and Anthony Bennett, rather than Darius Garland and Evan Mobley.

I love Brad's commentary, and would happily show AC the door if Brad was going to be the replacement. Not sure Brad is willing to make that commitment, but I sure hope so.

No please no to Carr's returning. If true it almost ruins the winning.
League pass shows how awful Carr is. I don't care if we've given up 10 or 30 points in a quarter, it will always be it's all the defense and it's defense time. The game passed him by years ago.

I'm not sure it was in the interest of the Cavs to do so for Reddish. Maybe he will find new life in New York, but ATL has had some good coaching and has been in the playoffs, and ATL felt like it was time to let go. They probably get the same level of performance for Knox and at least they get a pick out of it to boot. Not sure what the Knicks strategy is for this move.

I think the Cavs being patient for the right move rather than the one that looks OK on paper is the right thing to do here.

Yeah, if it's not going to be AC, I definitely want Brad in that chair. Depends on what it'll take for him to be on the job. Plus, I think younger fans need to be better exposed to the previously GOAT era of the Cavs one way or another.
