I agree re: sample size and shooting, but his defense was awful. He picked up 3 fouls in like 5 minutes and got the Spurs in the penalty which impacted how they defended us for the rest of the quarter.Even if that were true, which I’m not sure how you can come away with that take after he bombed away from deep on us, one game does not play any impact in my view on whether I’d want to acquire a player or not.
I'm probably biased because my strong preference is to give minutes to Okoro and Windler this season so as long as we continue to win. There's an opportunity cost to trading for guys like Forbes in terms of development and the Cavs have the luxury of being good enough to win while developing guys. The long-term cost to that if Windler or Okoro end up elsewhere and become really good players (see, e.g., Danny Green and Joe Harris), will outweigh any short terms benefit they gain by acquiring a guy like Forbes.
