Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #79 | Sixers @ Cavs | April 3, 2022 | 6:00 p.m.

Pleeeeeeeease stop! The Cavs gave the Sixers this game with stupid TOs and missed FTs
Get real… Cavs missed 8 FTs - Sixers missed 7… the problem is the ticky tack shit that the league CONTINUES to give Harden. It’s absolutely ridiculous how they buy into his full shit flailing, unnatural movements and yelling every time he drives

They are 4-0 against us I can't think of a team I'd rather see less.

We can't guard Embiid. He put Allen in the trashcan in the game he played against him.

Anyone else, please.
A Sixers beat writer was on Sirius today. He said the dream matchup for them would be against the Cavs though he thought it almost impossible since Cleveland wouldn't make it that far. After that they'd want the Bulls and more than anything to avoid the Raptors, he said Emblid always struggles with Nick Nurse teams.

JBB has his flaws as is other coaches. Similar to our young guys, we also hope that JBB develops as a coach considering he is also relatively young. Focusing on the good is the ability of this coaching staff to develop young guys. Stevens, Wade, Garland, Allen. Heck, even Moses Brown seemed to be buying into what the coaching staff is selling and the dude is with us for such as short time.

Guys on their 4th NBA stint don’t suddenly start to see the game a different way. Developing a young coach is what happened with Nick Nurse and the Raptors. JBB has been at the top of the game as an assistant and often interim head coach for a decade+ In like a handful of different organizations on different coaching staffs with different rosters.

I got some news for all the “JBB is young! He can develop” guys. When it comes to coaching style and Xs and Os and his playbook…JBB is a finished product. Might as well be Larry Drew. What you see is what you get. He may be able to fix a couple small things other guys ride him on in the margins but he is who he is, y’all’.

Nobody who rides the refs like he does is capable of enough self reflection at this point in his career to make the fundamental changes necessary to his fundamental approach to the game.

Maybe if Koby found a pair big enough to send JBB to the G league, lol. Then he could work on his fundamentals down there.

You could scour JBBs past. Well liked. Guys play hard for him. Good human being. All check marks. But when you start talking about things like….adaptability? None. Strategy? Yikes. Xs and Os? To JBB that just means “hugs and kisses.”

Heat now up 2 on Toronto; what a shame to lose this game

Be careful what you wish for.

Unreal that we only have about 3 games left and the play-in begins on the 11th.

On the bright side, DG and LeVert are playing well together. LeVert is a very good defender too. I want to see them with our bigs in the play-in. If JBB puts LeVert back on the bench instead of Okoro, he needs to go.

For the fourth time in four games the Cavs gave the Sixers all they could handle but came up just a tad short as Garland air-balled a floater and Love threw away an inbounds pass in the final minute. Like I always say, in a close game the team with the best individual player wins and tonight there was no question who the best player was.

Embiid with 42 points, 17 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots. Like his first three games against the Cavs he was a man among boys. Harden was a solid 20/10/10. Nobody else on the Sixers did much of anything.

The Cavs gave themselves a chance by only committing 9 turnovers and hitting 45.5% of their 3's. If they continue to do that they'll win more than they lose.

Seeing how the Cavs came down to the final 11 seconds with the ball and a chance to go to OT despite missing Sexton, Allen, Mobley and Wade makes me really excited about next season. And if they get Allen and Mobley back for the play-in they will be a tough out for any team they play.

Lamar Stevens has passed Okoro in my opinion. 18 points, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists and a steal in 26 minutes. Okoro in six MORE minutes had 3 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal. Okoro also missed 3 of his 6 free throws, which had a big impact at the end of the game when the Cavs trailed by 3 in the final seconds. Stevens is really coming on and is carving out a role for the future.

Moses Brown had 9 points and 12 boards in 20 minutes but was a -12, worst on the team. He's not ready to contest Embiid now, but he has potential.

LeVert had another solid game with 18 points and 7 assists.

Watch the replay if you didn’t watch the first time before commenting.
Don’t need to watch the game! We lost by four and miss and missed 7 FTs…hit them and we win by three. TOs hurt us! As my coach used to say “It’s not how many TOs you have it’s where in the game you have them” STOP BLAMING THE REFS! We had 10, 11 and 12 point leads and couldn’t build on them because of TOs, missed FTs and point blank shots! Refs had nothing to do with that!

So the box score is all you need to know. Um, ok.

I watched the whole game and watched the Cavs turned the ball over at the top of the key for Sixer run outs, I watched the Cavs miss at least 7 point blank layups, and clang FTs. The box score is always misleading in a loss as well as a win. The Sixers made plays….we didn’t. Harden gets those BS frailing calls because he throws himself in a crowd to force the refs to make a call. DG, LaVert, etc shoot fadeaways and floaters. Other than Lamar who on this team attacks the paint strong. Okoro only does it on fast breaks!

The missed wide open shots, lobs, the the one play in the 3rd when the 76ers clearly through the ball out of bounds, JBB didn't do anything and the 76ers ended up making a 3 point from Embiid on that play. There was another play Lavert should have just fallen on the ball and he knocked it out of bounds. Let alone the end of game Love mishap...
Those are frustrating plays for me tonight not the fucking 8 missed FT's or the 9 turn over's... Give me a fucking break...

So Embiid’s 20 free throw attempts and only one personal foul called wasn’t the difference in a 4-point game? Sorry, I think the Cavs mistakes wouldn’t have been fatal if Embiid wasn’t given free reign by the refs.
