Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Do you think the Gs have a shot at him in 3-4 years when he asks to come stateside?

They usually avoid those guys, so its likely a no...

I mean since we weren't in on Suzuki (who has looked good so far) and he was in a position we needed, I doubt we will try to be a top bidder for a SP where we have depth in...

We have shown we aren't afraid to sign someone over there, if they are a full free agent, but we don't mess with posted players...

The family of real estate magnate Ted Lerner, which 16 years ago purchased the Washington Nationals from Major League Baseball and oversaw a rebuilding process that eventually resulted in a World Series championship, has begun the process of exploring potential changes in the club’s ownership structure, including the possibility of selling the team.
Mark D. Lerner, Ted Lerner’s son who now serves as the club’s managing principal owner, told The Washington Post in a statement Monday that the family has hired New York investment bank Allen & Company to research potential investors, and possibly buyers, for the Nationals.

@Gson since you like catcher talk

Chadwick Tromp just got DFA'd, should we DFA a Chang to pick him up?

Tromp was DFA'd.. not for the first time.. He's that AAAA type guy who's been around.. and around and around.. Good enough to get work.. not good enough to be the worker.. If a depth spot in the MiLB's were acceptable.. he'd be a guy that could toil away wherever the Guardians wanted for a long time.. might turn out to be another Kevin Cash.. inadequate as a catcher..but a student/teacher of the game..

Am I wrong for wanting another C on the roster over Bradley/Chang?

Yes. Maile will be back in a couple weeks, but if someone wants to "buy" either guy... No reason not to consider it.

Well Tromp has options... That's one reason why I am looking at him

If he clears, I think he can reject an assignment and become a FA.. If that's the case, signing him to be the AAA depth "Sandy Leon" type works for me.

I don't think we are going to be the best place for a FA catcher if Tromp gets to be a free agent. If we claim him, we get total control and that's a lot nicer to have..

You might be right about the lack of overall fit. But as a rostered player he makes ZERO sense to me. As a FA - I'm interested assuming he is OK with playing AAA ball and only getting added/called up when we are in a jam, see Ryan Lavarnway
