couple notes from yday's games - jarred kelenic 0-4, 4k's - has he had a hit since about this time last year v the indians?

twinkies use 8 pitchers in a 9 innings 7-2 loss to the Dodgers

yu darvish gives us 9 ERs in 1.2 innings v the giants

A quick note: The Angels have lost their most important middle infielder for the next couple of weeks, David Fletcher.. The Halos have called up someone named Andrew Velazquez.. they'll be looking for a stop gap MIF'er to fill this void.. The good news is the injury is only said to be minor..

I've said this hundreds of times at work in the last 5 years. If Philly fans are offended, they need to grow a pair.

Another group that needs to grow a pair. Dubron basically handed the Padres an out, one ONE PITCH, and the lazy ass players let him get on base by half assing it after the ball. The Pads skipper should have been ripping his own players- not Dubron. And props to Kapler for pulling Dubron, no one should ever be bunting, it's horrifically inefficient.

I don't think we are going to be the best place for a FA catcher if Tromp gets to be a free agent. If we claim him, we get total control and that's a lot nicer to have..

We don't need another project/AAAA player/possibility. We need a C that can play on both sides of the ball already. It may already be in the system via Lavastida or Naylor, but we clearly don't have an answer to that problem at the moment.

It will be nice to see Lavas get a base hit.. If he gets a start.. hopefully against the Giants this weekend..

I always thought this was silly. Baseball is not a timed sport and as unlikely as it is, there's always a chance a team can rally. If managers get so pissed about stuff like this, then they should be allowed to forfeit the damn game. What if they cut the lead down to two runs by the time the 8th inning rolls around? Are they going to return the favor and quit trying for the remainder of the game? To me, that would only be fair.
