I actually love going to low attended games myself. However this is pretty pathetic and possibly damaging to MLB itself.
I live near Tampa and enjoy going to the mid-week, lowly attending Rays games. When I yell at a play I KNOW they hear me.
It might do a litttttttle better in one of the proposed spots closer to Tampa (it's located in St. Pete which can be tough to get to during traffic). But personally, I don't think Florida is a great MLB state. Most people here are transplants from other states and already have their allegiances. Nowadays people have the ability to keep up with their hometown teams instead of being sorta forced to watch the local team. The NFL teams and oddly the hockey teams do very well. But baseball just never seems to be attended.
I think it's beyond a new stadium at this point, mainly because that sounds like it will not be happening. They have already scouted several sites in LV. and once all the boxes are checked and MLB gives them the thumbs up - It's a done deal.
