Myles Straw is the best CF in the AL.
 
Yep, the dropped throw by Naylor cost a runs as well as Plesac allowing a single to Beatty, who was 2-for-32, in the 6th. Beatty scored the Padres 5th run on a sac fly with one out. If Plesac gets Beatty that sac fly would have been the third out.

However, Naylor had an RBI single and an oppo double so he produced at the plate.

Sunshine looked the same. He didn't allow many runs but used a lot of pitches. They pulled him in the 5th inning after 95 pitches.

The top four hitters in the G's order were 2-for-16.

Stephan and Hentges are developing into quite the dynamic duo as a left/right setup monster. Hope Karinchak makes it all the way back, but if he doesn't I'm confident these guys can be a great bridge to Close.
 
After Bieber (who has been good but certainly not Cy Bieber) and McKenzie, the starting staff is really shaky. Quantrill has not come close to last year's success. It is early of course, only game 24 being played right now.
 
I know I was the guy who predicted Fanmil to have an 0-4 with 3 K's day but.. would have liked to see him PH for Owen there in the 9th. Why not? Oh well. Padres are a good team so the sweep streak keeps rolling on!

ETA: I think this team will be fun at home when it finally starts warming up
 
Biebers ERA is 2.45, against a career 3.25.

His FIP of 3.04 is right on his career 3.05.

His xFIP is 3.08, vs a career 3.01.
