Robin Lopez: Joining his twin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Here comes another non-shooter! :celb (13):

Oh man. Whatever. RoLo is an entertaining character... but he's strictly a low post dude and can't switch anywhere close to the perimeter. He will NOT ever, EVER be high up in pick and roll defense. A drop guy through and through.

But seriously, our whole 5 rotation is completely unable to provide any spacing. If you don't think that's scary, I don't know what to tell you.

Perplexing move. Why not just hold on to Moses Brown?
Because Moses is such a good shooter? Really, man do you just complain for fun?

Mobley should have that range and will play the 5

Edited the post. Who said Moses is a good shooter? Don't put words into my mouth.

Not my fault we keep picking up guys who can't hit water if they fell out of a boat...

He was signed to replace Ed Davis. He's a better player then Ed Davis. What is the issue? Your acting like he was signed to play some major role.

Because Robin is a very experienced vet instead of a fringe kid. He’s a backup on the vet min. Is there anything you won’t complain about?

Him and Sir’Dom Pointer should get a room.

You must be fun at parties.

Oh. Who told you that?

I really don't think so. Ed Davis is a warm body on the bench. Lopez is our new backup 5.

The big rotation is going to be the same as last year. Majority of the minutes going to Allen, Mobley and KLove. Ed Davis was Allen's direct backup last season and never really played unless we had injuries. I'm assuming that's the role Lopez will play.

I really don't see Love being a part of any "big" rotation next season. He just spent all season bombing from the perimeter and only ventured to the paint on defense to draw charges. That's the direction we're going.

Next season, he'll be a year older and slower and hopefully play a lot less minutes. And definitely not at the 5.

I see Lopez directly backing up Allen and playing 10-15 minutes per game. That is NOT Ed Davis.

Jarrett Allen played 32 MPG last year. Mobley played 34 MPG last year. At least 10 of those minutes will come with Mobley next to KLove. That takes Jarrett Allen + Minutes Mobley and KLove play together to at least 42 center minutes eaten. So unless they plan on cutting Allens minutes that leaves a whole 6 minutes of playing time for Lopez.

And our backup 5 last year, before Moses, was…?

KLove is a 5 off the bench. There aren’t many bench bigs that can overpower him. And he’s a matchup problem on the other end, for some teams. This is nothing new.

Maybe give up on this argument. We don’t know exactly how they’ll use Lopez, but it’s clear that he is an improvement over Ed Davis. Can’t argue that. In my opinion, Robin will have a small role on some nights and have some DNP-CD’s on some other nights. Depends on the matchup.
