Chances Garland plays out his contract in Cleveland? Over/under 50%.

I think all of this really depends on how the front office builds the team and if the coaching staff can find a true advantage in the playoffs. If players trust the organization and the players around them they tend to stay.

I mostly agree but one factor Darius has in his favor is the incredible amount of respect and friendship he has around the NBA.

His time practicing with the Olympic team last (nearly made the team that went) and working with Pops, Draymond etc helped him a lot. By all accounts he’s a great kid who is very respectful of his elders so they invest in him.

When he was announced as a reserve on TNT that crew was very happy, nobody more than Draymond. I still think getting to all NBA will be tough and being in NY or LA would make it easier but by his play and top notch attitude he will continue to #letemknow.

But … but … but … advanced statistics don’t lie! Data alone is all you need to give you the complete answer.

To what question I have no idea.

Speaking of max deals , am I nuts to slightly question the one Zion got? Not talent, but health?

who regrets the max first? Cavs or Pels or neither?

Pels, but I feel bad saying it because I don't want to jinx the heath demons.

Zion is a lose lose. They have to max him but he’s never gonna earn that contract.

I question talent and health. And Pelicans regret it within the next year or two.

It's unbelievable how quickly we've gotten to the point where teams "have" to max guys, no matter the risk involved. The max extension used to be for the select few. Now it's like, if you're a high profile rookie (for whatever reason) and you don't get the max... WTF is wrong with you?

(Scratch that scenario – in reality, you can be a walking red flag and you're still getting the max.)

Where Darius Garland ranks in franchise history:

Points: 40th
Assists: 21st
Steals: 47th
3 pointers made: 11th

6+ years to build on those
