2022 Season Series #27 | Guardians @ Royals | July 8-10, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nobody is saying that Jones is a certain bust, and few are saying that he is a certain star.

But the odds of his profile, esp for a corner player that does not play a premium position, are likelier...by far...for the former than the latter.

We've had this exact same discussion before...several times....and we've seen the results.

In the last six years or so, we've had this discussion about Zimmer, Bradley, Frazier, and Chang. So far, the power+K prospects are 0-4.
For me it's just the timing of needing to immediately throw cold water on a kid after what has been a very nice start to his MLB career. Give it a little time to breathe for crying out loud. On top of that harshing on the good vibes after the team breaks a slump. There's going to be plenty of time to piss all over everything the second half of the season.

Cats loves throwing cold water on the kids, don't you dare mention the future IF. Rosario above all

I agree with you. Heck, I'd bet against every single prospect and come out ahead. Most fail.

I think Jones's approach at the plate is superior to every one of those guys you mentioned, and has been every single year at every single level. That's a cause for optimism for me.

I never got the hate on Jones last season either. He had a horrible start but was solid after that. He has plus power and honestly if you look at his body, he will be adding more to it as well.

I always thought his floor was a Lonnie Chisenhall type who takes walks... and that hasn't changed...

Great to see Hard hitting Ernie Clement back in the lineup over Gimenez.

Lousy at bat by Franmil again.

Amazing that a guy that has so much success going to right field continues to pull off of pitches away.

We forget his age at times, he is still on the younger side, but you are right, he needs to stick with using the other way more, especially with two strikes...

Two swinging Ks for Plesac in the first.

Good AB by the big Ern.. for naught..

Greinke is more than hittable..

Gimenez has been HBP six times in the last eleven days. He's probably a little sore.

Naylor is gonna be like this...almost day to day...the rest of the year.
Thank you Dr. Cats44. Appreciate your definitive virtual medical diagnosis.

A lot of scratching of Naylor lately, just put him on IL

We do have the All-star break coming up, I wonder if we can use that and send Naylor to the DL

The problem is we don't have anyone else who plays 1B primarily on the 40 man... Miller has struggled over there, Jones has been introduced to 1B, but hasn't played it much. Noel is at AA so he would have to get call up. Otherwise we have an open 40 man but Vargas has to be activated in about weekish. We don't have an open spot to call up Brooks or Fry. I would like to get one of them up...
