2022 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So when does a 24 year old player that is a threat for 30 HRs, 30 Doubles, 30 Steals, rocking a .418 OBP get a cup of coffee in the bigs? Yes, the bolded is insane to me through 77 games.

Please tell me Myles fucking Straw isn't blocking said player. Please tell me the organization isn't being tentative because they gave him a 5 year contract.

Give Tito some late game chess pieces to move around for crying out loud. Our pinch hit bats are pathetic.

This guy just fuggin gets it.

Mentioned him elsewhere about "turning a corner" soon.

Added velo has made his slider plus-plus when its right and he's starting to develop a fringe plus circle change that is generating a lot of swing and misses later in games, especially against lefties.

Went from 89-91 T92 to 93-95 T97, fits in a sinker with good arm-side run and a 4-seemer.

Don't think he is long for Low-A for much longer if the in-game flip has switched.
Wow. Filthy stuff.
I wasn't even aware of this guy.

Benson has found another gear for sure, but what about Brennan? Hits like Kwan with better defense and at 6’ 200lbs will surely add some more power. Jones is raking. What do they do if OGon comes back and continues to hit? What the hell happens when Valera is ready for a call up?

Guys like Jones, OGon and Benson have warts, but their power masks it a bit I’d say. Each also have above average abilities. Benson can take walk and play excellent defense. Jones is extremely patient. Gonzalez has ridiculous bat to ball skills.

Valera and Brennan are just special hitters. Brennan being possibly the most underrated prospect in our system. This kid can play.

MUST RESIST THE URGE TO RESPOND

I feel like they will have to figure out what to do about all of this. I know this season is up and down, but the future look legit for this organization

I love Brennan, but I feel like Kwan, Straw, Brennan becomes redundant.

Benson having pop, speed, and defense is the kicker.

If management thinks Brennan has a far better career than OGon, then I'm with them on their decision.

One of the Will Bs has to be dealt before the deadline or at least before the R5 deadline in the offseason. There's simply not room for both of them on the 40 man roster, nor would both be able to receive a fair opportunity in Cleveland. Capitalize on the brilliant seasons from both of them, and include one in a trade to address the needs of the big league club.

This will likely be a crazy trade deadline/off season since, if we don't make a 4-1 move we will lose some prospects without a doubt. I feel it's time to move on from Reyes and Rosario...

I want to keep Reyes. To be fair, I'm biased. Because I am a big fan. But he provides an element that we simply do not otherwise have--legitimate power. Yes, he is a flawed player. But the offense needs to be dynamic. Outside of Jose, the concept of having a lineup comprised almost entirely of slap hitters is just not appealing.

Reyes is young, controllable, and has been hitting very well since coming back from the DL. He also gives us a dimension that no one else does. Unless you are sold on Noel, there's no one else in the org who will be providing that dimension any time soon either.

You can make a lot of improvements with a Rosario, Tena, Brennan, and perhaps Plesac as your trade chips. No need to throw in one more guy who happens to do something that no else you have does.

If you move on from Amed and Franmil, it means we will be adding to the prospect overload....not alleviating it.

It also means that we are losing two RH bats for a lineup that can't hit left hand pitching well.

In Ameds case, it means we are likely to be weakening the lineup.

These are the production levels over the last two years of our three realistic candidates to partner with Gimenez next year.

923 PAs...283/322/404/725...22 SB...18.3 K rate.

639 PAs...264/316/385/701...10 SB....25.4 K rate.

463 PAs...246/354/383/737...8 SV...10.9 K rate.

The first is Amed, playing in MLB.

The second is Arias, playing in AAA, rookie ball, and MLB.

The third is Freeman, playing in AA and AAA.

Now, some fans do not feel that Amed is a good player, by whatever definition they choose to use...and thats OK. But if Amed isn't good, than by the same definition, what do they call two youngsters who have done worse against much lesser competition?

Battenfield and Benson with great games today!
For those who didn't see, Benson was 3-4, with a HR and 2B and also stole 3rd.

The pressure is going to be too much. Hardcore fans want Will Benson. It's just the way it is.

Battenfield is meh. He's not missing enough bats in AAA. I think he might get torched in the bigs as it stands. I just saw that Cody Morris was coming back, he might be an AAA player who actually does something for the Guardians this year.
