2022 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Since we're so close to a competitive race down the stretch, Amed won't be traded unless the offer wows us. We'll try to move him in the offseason.

I expect Freeman to be first in line for the utility ABs that currently go to Miller and Clement.

I really think Arizona is actually a fit for trades as well, so I wouldn't even be surprised to see guys change clubhouses this next series.

Let's see how much change comes, since I think there will be a fair amount on the 2nd/3rd...

If Naylor goes on the IL, then I hope they call up Benson, assuming he is comfortable enough to play 1B.

DFA Castro or McCarty and stash them in AAA if they make it through waivers.

Edit: I quoted the wrong post and realized you said basically the same thing already lol.

Time flies like an arrow.
Fruit flies like a banana.
Yankees fans still suck.

Keith Law's midseason top 60 is out. Guardians notables:

20. George Valera (up from 29)
21. Brayan Rocchio (up from 22)
24. Daniel Espino (up from 51)
37. Gavin Williams (previously unranked)
48. Tanner Bibee (previously unranked)

Is Rocchio good enough to force his way up next year even with all the infielders?

Most people would tell you they believe Rosario won't be here next spring, and with Owen Miller proving he may be nothing more than a utility bat, I think there's a chance he gets a shot. Personally I'm hoping Freeman, Arias, and Rocchio all get a good crack before end of next season.

But I don't follow prospects much. I don't know fuck about shit.

It's possible, but with the fact he hasn't really gotten any AAA bats yet, I am not sure he will be 100% ready next season.

The only reason him and Valera are not up in AAA is due to other prospects. Once up, they won’t be up for long. Bimbo said at beginning of season Rocchio had shot this year. Valera had a shot last year if not for Covid season lost.

Now, no one can predict what may/will happen. Yet, they are not far off... And, AAA isn’t that big of need for hitters... everyone wants Naylor up now after about a month. Just saying....

Unfortunately, I don’t see a log jam breaking soon (by tomorrow) on AA/AAA switching. Hopefully I am wrong

I like Arias. I like Freeman. I like Tena. I love Angel Martinez.

But Rocchio is a different kind of player from those guys. He's a culture change guy, guy who has a chance to change everything about your big league club the moment he arrives, which we last saw with Lindor.

He's been that way pretty much every place he has played in the minors. He's the last middle infielder this organization would trade, IMO.

Don't you be bringing that Jordan Luplow bad juju around here!

What's it going to take for Gabby Rodriguez to get some love? Been the best and most consistent hitter for Lake County all season. 2 more hits yesterday and up to .285. Only 52 Ks on the year, 7 taters. He's younger than Angel Martinez, bigger than Martinez, and was the biggest international signing I believe his year. It's like we've forgot about him. Not sure why he isn't in the discussion for Top 10 prospect in the org. I concede Martinez is a better prospect and more exciting but people are completely forgetting about this guy.

Biggest surprise?

Gabby Rodriguez for position players. Regaining some of his top international FA hitting profile. Still a ton to like about his game, and still only 20 years old. He has all the makings of being a similar hitting prospect to Valera from the RH side. Just needs it all to come together.

Ain't nobody forgot about him in here.
