Literally the only problem with this scenario is that it's unlikely to happen

I agree that it's unlikely.

Honestly, the most unlikely part is that Lebron specifically wanting to come back to Cleveland. If he just wants to win a championship this year, he should ask for a trade (the Lakers aren't going to be that good) -- but he should try to go to like: Miami/Brooklyn (if KD stays)/Milwaukee/GS instead of Cleveland. We're really too young to be an optimal choice for this season, even if we are overperforming.

Consider posting about Harrison Barnes!

Alternatively, you could always suggest Colin Sexton refuse to report for training camp if he is offered less than $20 million/year.
do you have any other suggestions at the 3 to carry on with an adult discussion?...and harrsion is probabaly not an option.....miami is trying to dump robinson with a first and atlanta with a collins for barnes swap...both these teams understand the value of harrsion barnes.....if youre a GM that values barnes at less than a first round and as a 7 or 8th player off the bench...my guess....youre not a GM for very long....you can only miss that badly so many times before youre shown the door

The Cavs could send Love to the Lakers to balance out the salaries. I don't know if those other teams have a salary they can send to the Lakers without taking a key player out of their rotation.

Although I assume those teams would be willing to pay the luxury tax if it results in a Championship, assuming that's an option.

The Cavaliers have bounced around the idea of bringing back Wiggins into the fold for a while now and the Warriors probably cannot afford Wiggins on top of the other costly contracts on their payroll. With how Wiggins performed en route to an NBA Championship this summer, the fit would make almost too much sense with Cleveland.

With Love's salary coming off the books next year and probably Sexton or LeVert as well, Wiggins could be signable if the W's can't afford to keep him.

Wiggins would slot right in at the 3. Markkanen would back up Wiggins at the 3 and Mobley at the 4 (with Love gone).

Guards: Garland, LeVert or Sexton, Rubio, Agbaji
Forwards: Mobley, Wiggins, Markkanen, Wade, Okoro
Centers: Allen, Robin Lopez (re-sign, or another backup center)
End of bench: Stevens, Windler, Cedi

I dont think Wiggins is coming to Cleveland (especially not as a FA), but IF he did, id rather see him as a big SG and keep Markkanen at the 3.

I'm still unsure why folks are so eager to move Markk off a pretty successful position position. His shooting is still an asset for the starting unit.

Mobley holding mini camp for players next week at USC. About 12 Cavs expected to show up

I'll guess:

E Mobley
Garland
Allen
LeVert
Agbaji
Okoro
Stevens
Wade
I Mobley
Nembhard
Windler
Sexton (if he counts)

Not in attendance:
Love
Markkanen
Rubio
Lopez
Osman
Neto

If LeBron was traded to the Cavs in mid-season next year he would be ALL about bringing another Championship to Cleveland. He would NOT insist on being ball-dominant and for 40 games plus the playoffs he would not screw up Mobley's career. I can't believe some of the takes I'm reading.

LeBron would be thrilled to let Garland run the offense. He doesn't want to play point forward or whatever. He would be an awesome secondary creator, just like Rubio was last year when he and Garland had the highest on-court +/- of any combination in the league. LeBron would be a supersized Rubio. Allen, Mobley, Markkanen, and others would be in hog heaven with two distributors like DG and LBJ on the floor.
I think this is a really really critical thing that you cannot just assume. LeBron has been in situations before where it would've been ideal for him to defer. He joined Miami that had another MVP level guy in Wade. Kyrie was already a high usage secondary creating scoring PG with us. LeBron always forces the team to morph around him and not the other way around. And without going full armchair psychologist, I dont think LeBron has ever done anything to indicate he would be willing to take a backseat.

The only time I can ever think of him deferring outside an All-Star game was the 08 Olympics where he let Kobe take it over in clutch offense. Unfortunately, we do not have Kobe Bryant in his prime on our roster, so I don't think you can just assume LeBron is willing to take a backseat.

I also do not think just adding Bron into the Okoro/Love/Osman minutes makes us a title contender. We are still lacking a good PoA defender, a lot of shooting (that LeBron doesn't really help with), and reliable bodies to put on big wings.

Harrison Barnes does less to solve our problems than LeBron does. He becomes another guy who needs the ball, doesnt create, and cant defend a chair. Why would you give up Kevin Love, who doesn't need the ball, is one of the best playmaking bigs in the league, and cant defend a chair for Harrison Barnes? This obsession has gotten silly.

As for Wiggins, I think he is an almost ideal fit. Maybe BI is a bit better? If we could nab Wiggins im on board.

I like Wiggins' fit with this team - a lot. But it's going to take a big salary with a number of years to get him. Most of our team will be looking at getting their own big paydays before Wiggins' next contract runs out. We know Garland is getting paid soon. We know Mobley is getting paid in a few years. In 3 years we could be looking at around 120 million in just 3 players (with Wiggins). And then we would also have important role players to pay. I still like it, but a few people we'd like to keep will probably have to go. Who do you think would be most likely?

Garland is getting paid now
From July 9…
Last week, the Associated Press reported Garland signed a 5-year, $193 million extension which is the largest in franchise history. Garland's deal is the largest in franchise history.

That could be an issue. I'd have to look at the future salary comittments and I don't have time at the moment. I just assumed that with Love's $30 million coming off the books and Sexton and/or LeVert leaving as well there would be money to sign Wiggins.

With the young core we have I'm sure he would love to play here.
